Joy Mixed Media Ornament

Hi Wow fans, this is Jenifer here with you today to share my mixed media project with you.  I am definitely in the Christmas mood so I ended up making an ornament.  Just wait till you see what I made this out of :) I added a piece of patterned paper from DCWV on all sides of the box and then using an embossing ink pad I ran it down all the edges and then using opaque bright white embossing powder it made it look like a snowy glass window.  I love how it turned out, and I think I will be making a set to hang on the tree this year. I stamped Joy using the "Deck the Halls" Stamp set in Metallic Platnum splarkle embossing glitte r then cut our around the stamp and adhered it with some foam squares.  All the ribbons are from May Arts and the deer die is from Spellbinders.  Top the ribbon off with a Foliage Button and you are now good to go. I used the box from a package of soap to make my ornament, I snapped a picture quick before I finished it up.  What could you re

Mixed Media Art Doll: by Trish

Hello! The theme for this month is my favourite thing, mixed media! I've created my favourite thing, an Art Doll! As well as plenty of paints and inks, there are rather a lot of WOW products in there too! I stamped the body using the dots from the funky border strip set, and embossed them using white powder. The 3D heart is created using the heart mould, with clear and process blue powder. To get the swirly effect, add the blue powder on top of the clear powder, then just leave well alone until completely melted. Stir just once, then pour into the mould. The white inner core of the blue powder is not totally released that way, giving the variations in shade... The 'love' word comes from the Express yourself stamp set. I stamped it onto tissue paper then added it to the body. I added a strip of hearts to the base, from the Gratitude set..  The crown has been triple embossed using primary apple red powder, with a layer of white powder as the second layer. The whi

Mixed Media Project

Hi all Hers's my Mixed Media project for WoW. Iv'e made a canvas for you today using WoW Embossing Powders and the Crackle Stamp. To make this canvas I firstly covered it with white tissue paper and scrunched it up before it dried. I then coloured the canvas with beige paint and grunged it up a bit with a black stamp pad. I then added clear embossing powder to the Cracked Leather stamp and embossed the whole thing with Sensational Sage powders. Gold Embossing powder was also added in patches to add to the grunge look. I embossed 3 leaves with Sensational Sage and Azure Mist powders, stick them onto a backing paper and added them to the canvas. I then with gold powder, I  embossed some wording from the "Express yourself" stamp onto a label and added it to the stamped image of the NB Canvas stamp which I cut out. The whole thing was finished off with 3 lines from the top of the canvas down to the leaves which I added in ribbon. .Finally a bow to complete

A little bit of mixed media fun

Hello all.  I hope you have enjoyed the blog hop with Wow and Ruby Rock-It.  If you have not gone and had a look I highly recommend you do.  Today I have a layout to share with you using some mixed media technique.   I had so much lovely Ruby Rock-It product left over that I have used it in this layout. For this project I have started by using a mask and a versamark pad.  Applied the versamark by pressing down into the mask.  This can be a bit tricky if you don't have a moist pad.  I then added a mixture of two embossing powders,  both light in colour as I did not want the background to over power the photo.  The colours I used in this project are special edition Dune and gobi.  I then heat set  the embossing powders. You can see in this close up that the powders do not leave a complete colour, but leaves the shape that I had used from the mask.  If you would like to add another layer to the back ground.  Wow has some amazing colours available in foils.   Foils can

WOW! organization

Hello all, Nataliya is here :) Today I want to show you how I made a palette of my powders collection . It's very simple! I marked all the covers in cans using this same powder :) I took ink for embossing, make a print, sprinkle it with powdered and melted it. Now I always know what color of powder in the can, how looks glitter, transparent color or not, and all the other properties of powder :) My little army :) ,Have a nice day!

Sparkle Every Day

Hi! It's Sandie here and today I am sharing my take on this month's theme, which is  Mixed Media .    I have had this wooden wall plaque in my stash forever and decided it would be perfect to alter using some left over papers from the Ruby Rock-It/WOW! Embossing  blog hop - if you haven't seen the hop, you can find it HERE .  You still have a little bit of time to hop around for your chance to win an amazing prize :)  I created the background using Gesso, modelling paste, stencils and spray inks. Once it was dry I started to layer up my elements. I  distressed the edges of the quote with Blue Glitz glitter powder and adhered it with 3D foam.  For the flowers I used Foil Melt-It cases and combined some  Melt-It powder with various embossing powders. To melt the powders together I heated from underneath using the WOW! Heat Tool . The moulds I used were - Daisy  & Tea Rose When I had all of my embellishments in place I finished by add

Mixed Media Canvas Wall Art

Embossing powders can color almost any material that can take the heat. I am not naturally inclined toward mixed media but I have tried a couple of canvas projects with my WOW embossing powders, and I came up with one I like. This year's trend of home state shapes in everything from jewelry to decor inspired me to add a California piece to the beach themed guest bath. I taped off strips on an 8"x8" canvas and inked the canvas with clear Versamark ink one stripe at a time. I heat set regular gold embossing powder to these stripes. After heat embossing, I removes the tape then used a shade of yellow to paint the alternating canvas stripes. For the state shape, i used a template to cut out California's outline from thin cardboard. I inked the shape then used ultra high copper, 2 layers, to emphasize the shape. This was adhered to the canvas with strong wet glue. My Golden state creation was fun to make and looks great on the wall!

Mixed media card

Hi, Maya here with my project for this month. I must admit I struggled a bit with this months theme. I love playing with different mediums and experimenting but it's often a happy accident when I succeed in mixing techniques and mediums. I got this idea of making a stormy sea using the puff powder from WOW as foam on the waves and this is the result. I used distress ink and a mask I cut by hand to make the waves, I added some shimmering acrylic paint on top of the waves and applied the puff powder to it while it was still wet. I also splattered some different mists over the whole piece. The last thing I did was to sprinkle some extra high white embossing powder over the whole piece and applied the heat tool from the back to melt it. Here is a close up showing the shimmering paint on the waves.  I hope you got inspired to try some mixed media this month.  Supplies: White Puff Powder Bright White Ultra High Embossing powder Everyday Sentiments Clear stamp

Mixed Media...CAS Style!

Hello there! How is everyone?  It's the weekend - yay!  I hope you all have wonderful plans and find a little time for crafting too :) As you probably know by now, it is Mixed Media month here at WOW! Embossing Powder.  Now, I'm not going to lie, the thought of mixed media fills me with fear so this was a true challenge!  The other girls on the team are mixed media queens and we all know I'm here for the CAS contribution! I was surprised however, at how easily it all came together once I got going - so anyone else out there who thinks they can't 'do' the whole mixed media thing, give it a go, you may well surprise yourself :) On to my card... I know what you're thinking...not as 'mixed' as the other projects from the other Design Team members...I did warn you I was the CAS element of the team  :) I started by blending the inks onto white cardstock and then attacked it with splashes of water which lifted the ink nicely.  Then I stamped

Mix it all Up!

Hi Everyone Over at WOW HQ this month is MIXED MEDIA. I have used an ATC (Artist Trading Card) and started by covering this with Versamark ink. I then used an item I found in the pound shop.  It is what you put flour in to sprinkle on your surface to stop the dough sticking.  The holes are big enough for the embossing powder to come through. I then got a little bit of the following embossing powders and put them in the sprinkler: Primary Chartreuse , Gold Pearl, Earthtone Paprika, Bright White and added a little bit of black puff powder.    I then sprinkled this onto the Versamark and heat set. I then used pieces of a torn old book and glued 2 x strips onto the ATC.  I then put Versamark on the top of this and again sprinkled the embossing powder mixture mostly onto the strips of paper and heat set again.  The paper slightly bubbled and raised off the ATC giving a small dome effect. I then stamped with Versamark, the script stamp from 'Call Me

Mixed Media with Patti

This month's theme is "Mixed Media"!!! Well, I'm not a mixed media scrapper so this totally pushed me out of my comfort level. It's not really that mixed media, but it is for me! LOL! This is a layout of our Granddaughter. There are lots of WOW stamps and lots of texture here. I started of with my background. I used the Collage floral and stamped randomly around the edges in pink, green and blue. Then I used the Cracked Leather and stamped with pink on the entire page. I also used a sponge dabber and used the same colors and inked the center of the page. I made embossed, scalloped rosettes with inked edges and added pink decorative buttons. The photo mat is also embossed with an embossing folder. I did the fern leaves with a stencil, mixed gel medium with green Gelato and mixed to keep some small pieces showing! Then cut out. I used the Canvas stamp and made one of each of the same colors green, pink and blue and cut them out and used them o

Be Happy: Mixed Media canvas with Irit

Hello my dear crafty friends!  This is my small, card size, canvas made for WOW! Embossing powders November new monthly challenge and it's very easy one: make Mixed Media piece! Anything with embossing powders and Mixed Media is great. So here is my " piece of art": flat as a journal page, made with a few Tando Creative masks, few WOW! Embossing powders stamps as the background and a lot of WOW! POWDERS . First I made the profile with white texture paste and heat embossed with Black Glint powder. The I added a few pieces of another  mask and heat embossed with Raspberry  Coulis powder. The next step was clear embossing VersaMark  ink and Canvas  stamp and heat embossing with Ebony black powder and I made a kind of a frame around the canvas. As the next step I added a bit of texture paste over the  girl's hair and heat embossed it  with Pearl Gold powder. Then I added two heat embossed corners with Metallic Gold Sparkle powder. The piece
