Mini Cards using Tags with Karen Reategui

Hello shiny friends! Today I'm over the WOW! Embossing Powder Blog sharing these fun tags, that you can use like mini cards, using Pinkfresh Studio Dies and GinaK Designs Stamp and Dies. The embossing powders used are: WOW! Sunburst, Primary Bluetiful and Opaque Pastel Pink colors.

Let's shine! I started by stamping the cupcakes from GinaK Designs Make A Wish Stamp using Picket Fence Studios Black Hybrid Ink and heat embossed them with WOW! Clear Gloss Embossing Powder. I colored the cupcakes using Copic markers and fuzzy cut each of them.

Then, using one of the Pinkfresh Studio Essentials: Classic Tags With Fillable Elements Die Set I die cut three pieces of white cardstock. I applied Distress Oxide inks to those tags using the Picket Fence Studios Life Changing Blender Brushes Set. Additionally, I stamped the sentiment on top of each tag. These tags will be the inside of the mini cards.

Next, I die cut three more tags using this time the fillable elements. These will be the front parts of the mini cards. I tied the inside tags to the back of each of the front tags using different types and colors of ribbon. I placed the cupcakes on top of each tag using foam tape.

Finally, I die cut the words Celebrate, Hooray and Best Wishes from the Pinkfresh Studio Essentials: Classic Words Dies Set and heat embossed them using WOW! Sunburst, Primary Bluetiful and Opaque Pastel Pink Embossing Powders. Lastly, I placed these embossed words on top of the cupcakes.

This was my projects for today and I hope you get some inspiration and try this awesome technique of die cutting and heat embossing, which I loved so much! Have a bright and shiny day my lovely friends.

Designer Spotlight ... Jo Herbert

What is your favourite thing about crafting?
The thing I love most about crafting is learning and playing with new products. I also love seeing products come back and do a full circle so we are able to reintroduce trends back.

If you could chose to do anything to do for the day, what would it be?
I would love to take my family to Disneyland.  The idea of taking my family to an overseas trip is on my bucket list to do.

What’s your favourite genre of music?
My all-time favourite type of music is R n B – soul, dance, rap. Anything R N B related I am on the dance floor or making my own dance floor wherever I am.

What is your favourite book to read?
I love reading and don’t have a favourite book per se but a favourite series. I loved reading the Vampire Academy Series. I love all sorts of books really and I do tend to gravitate to modern romance as well. I know I know they are such a contrast of genres but really do love a good book.

Aside from necessities, what one thing could you not go a day without?
A chai latte. I know but seriously an almond milk chai latte to kick start my day is complete must for me.
For today's card I have made done some ink blending with some distress inks.
I have made a process video for you to watch this cardmaking process unfold.
One of my favourite things to do is have some DIY glitter cardstock on hand for die cutting sentiments.
TIP: I press my WOW! Embossing Powder Ultra slow drying inkpad directly on white cardstock then pour the embossing glitter over the sticky cardstock and heat set. I have several panels on hand now ready for future cards.

I have played with some Altenew dies and stamps as well as Simon Says Stamp Beautiful Florals 2 stampset. This stampset has such intricate details to it and love that WOW! have superfine embossing powders as options to capture and heat set all the little intricate details of stampsets.
When it comes to enhancing an embossed image I love using a grey copic marker to make the image pop so it come to the forefront and not blend in the background.

Hello Sunshine with Raluca

Hi everyone and welcome back to our creative WOW space! Raluca here and I'm so excited to share with you my new CAS card showcasing quite a few of the awesome WOW! embossing powders!

I created this card to play along with the "Favourite WOW! Technique" theme for the Wow! Embossing Powder Facebook Fan Group page monthly challenge - ❤ WOW Embossing Powder Fans ❤
I love using small stamps for creating a card and heat embossing them using different embossing powders. Here comes in handy the new WOW! Trio sets.

I started my card by cutting a small panel from WOW! Superior Smooth White Cardstock - A5. I absolutely love this cardstock! It's just a smooth, bright white and it's perfect for heat embossing and for coloring with alcohol markers! Definitely a must have in every crafter's stash!

Using the lovely Sunburst EP included in the WOW! Trio Bursting with Colour *Sara Naumann Exclusive set I heat embossed a sentiment from the Sizzix Clear Stamps - Hello Sunshine. This embossing powder is a combination between yellow and orange and it's so pretty!
Next I took the big flower from the Sizzix Clear Stamps - Hello Sunshine set and heat embossed it three times using the Love is the Drug EP from the WOW! Trio The Ferry Man set.

Then I embossed a pretty flower from the same set with the Angel Eyes EP from the WOW! Trio The Ferry Man and finally using the Jealous Guy EP from the same trio set I heat embossed the leaves included in the Sizzix Clear Stamps - Hello Sunshine set.
To add more color to the card I took my Spectrum Noir markers an colored the centre of the images using coordinating colors.
I glued the panel onto a slightly larger green panel and then mounted it onto a white card base using craft foam.
I glued a few clear sequins and some small holographic jewels and my card was done.

Super easy to create and with such a fabulous result!
That's all from me today! Have a lovely week!
And thank you so much for stopping by,

Superfast Watercolor Emboss Resist Three Ways with Jenny

Hi Everyone!

It's Jenny here, and today I'm sharing three cards with you that use one of my favorite techniques - emboss resist, with watercolor.  The added 'bonus' on these three cards is that the background is super quick and easy.  You embellish them as much or as little as you like (or depending on how much time you have!) and I have a few ideas here to inspire you.

There's a video too which you can find here, or over on the WOW! Embossing channel.

All three of my cards feature the WOW! Secret Garden stamp set designed by Marion Emberson - I love this stamp, it's got super pretty florals that are great for coloring or these techniques.

For my first card, I first stamped Secret Garden onto Distress watercolor cardstock with WOW! embossing ink.   I then heat embossed it with WOW! White Pearl embossing powder (LOVE).

I watercolored the panel (which I adhered to a board with tape) with my Altenew Pan watercolors, painting clear water over the panel first, then using a wide brush, created a pink ombre background starting with dark pink at the top, moving to lighter pinks and blending out with more water towards the bottom.   I drived the panel on setting 1 on my WOW! Embossing Dual Heat Speed tool and then repeated.  When dry, I die cut the panel with a Deckle Edge Rectangle die by Honeybee Stamps.

To finish my card, I trimmed a strip of purple cardstock and heat embossed a sentiment from Pinkfresh Studio's Scripted Bold Sentiments 2 in WOW! Metallic Platinum (which is a warm silver and basically goes with everything!), and die cut it with a banner die.  I then popped it up foam tape and added a few sequins.    The entire panel was mounted onto a white notecard with foam tape.

For my second card, I heat embossed the image with WOW! Gold Pearl. I then used my watercolors again and added in really quick color with a large brush into the images - just splodge in the color! I did yellow for the main florals and then dropped in some orangey-coral - I just let it blend on its own for a more sketch look. I added some olive tone to the leaves.   I then dried with my heat tool.

When dry, I die cut the background with circle dies of varying sizes, and adhered them onto a white card base with different levels of foam tape.  I added a sentiment strip as before,  again heat embossed in WOW! Metallic Platinum on black.  The sentiment is from Altenew's Crafty Friends.  As a finishing touch I added some sequins.

My final card is my favorite!  I heat embossed the stampset one more time, this time in WOW! Sparkling Snow which is a gorgeous clear glitter with opaque white embossing powder - I just love it.    I added some clear water to the centre, then dropped in various paint colors to create a rainbow, letting them blend only slightly.  I then let it dry naturally and die cut it with a stitched rectangle die.

I popped it up on craft foam onto a white notecard. For a little more interest,  I added a leaf die cut from vellum, using the Simon Says Stamp Clustered Leaves die which I added with liquid clear adhesive. I trimmed it off at the edges.  The sentiment is in Metallic Platinum, and is from Pinkfresh Studio's My Favorite Things to Say set.

All of the WOW! supplies I used are listed below. I hope you have a wonderful day!
