It's
Susanne writing today and I'd like to share a mixed media tag with you.
I used liquid watercolors together with the round mini Gelli Plate to
create my background.
The "Hey little Flower" stamps add a lovely texture to my background together with the brand new "Banana Split" powder.
I pick some gelli prints and emboss the "Flights of Fancy" with "Primary Ebony" powder.
I paint the edges of my tag with a black Gelato.
The
lovely hearts are created with the "Hearts" mould and a combination of
WOW! Melt it Powder "Mint Macaroon" and "Under the Sea". I used some
wool from my kids to finish the tag.
The sentiment is from the brand new "Just Saying" stamp set.
My name is Marsha Valk and I’m
honoured to be guest posting here today on the WOW! Embossing Powders Blog!
I have a mixed media art journal spread to
share with you. It features some of my favourite embossing techniques, like
using a stencil or a brayer to apply WOW! Clear Ultra Slow Drying Embossing Ink
to a page and then sprinkling on some embossing or bonding powder.
Here are the written steps to create the
page, but I’ve also created a video for you, so you can see exactly what I did!
1.Apply an acrylic paint to the
paper with a brush or with your fingers.
2.Stick a couple of the flowers
of the Hey Little Flower (by Marion Emberson) - Clear Stamp Set onto an acrylic
block. Stamp it with WOW! Clear Ultra Slow Drying Embossing Ink and then emboss
it with Clear Gloss Regular.
3.Apply paint over the embossed
images, let it dry a little and then gently wipe the paint from the embossed
flowers.
4.Stamp flowers with WOW! Clear
Ultra Slow Drying Embossing Ink and then emboss it with Peppermint Tea. Repeat
with Strawberry Sundae.
5.Stencil a pattern along the
edges of the page with acrylic paint.
6.Use another stencil and apply
WOW! Clear Ultra Slow Drying Embossing Ink in some spots. Sprinkle Bonding
Powder on top, heat it with a heat gun and then apply a small sheet of Ice Blue
Fab Foil on top of the sticky Bonding Powder. Gently burnish and remove the Fab
Foil sheet.
7.Add another layer of paint on
the page.
8.Colour the insides of the
flowers with watercolours.
9.Use a brayer to apply WOW!
Clear Ultra Slow Drying Embossing Ink to the page in some spots and sprinkle on
some Embossing Glitter. Heat set. I used a mixture of powders that was leftover
from another project.
10.Use a cardboard tube to stamp WOW! Clear Ultra Slow Drying Embossing
Ink onto the page. Emboss with Opaque Bright White.
11.Stamp words from the Just Saying (by Marion Emberson) - Clear Stamp
Set in the circles with a black permanent ink.
12.Add marks and details with acrylic markers, add some depth with a
watercolour pencil and finish the page by adding a quote or a lyric.
Stencils (Carabelle Studio: Etoiles et carrés,
Petits et Grands Triangles)
Permanent ink (Ranger Archival Ink Jet
Black)
Paint markers (Posca, Derwent Graphik Line
Painter)
Watercolour pencil (Stabilo All)
Watercolours
Brayer
Cosmetic sponge
Bone folder
Edit from Tania: I adore the colours that Marsha has used and that she has used so many different techniques. I love that she used the Hey Little Flower and Just Saying stampsets in an art journal layout which makes my mixed media and colourful heart very happy! <3

It's Fran here with today's embossing inspiration and I have a texture rich Birthday card to share with you. Plus a start to finish video tutorial which encompasses some of my favourite quick and easy embossing techniques.
I created the card's background using the WOW! Clear Ultra Slow Drying Embossing ink pad along with a selection of gorgeous blue hued embossing powders.
And I give you a few ideas for pimping up your embellishments!
As you can see you can create some fabulous effects and textures with embossing powder which are great for all your projects.
I hope the tutorial has inspired you to have a play with your embossing supplies. Enjoy!
Hello crafty friends, Martha Lucia here to share with you my favorite technique using embossing powders. It is double embossing and you can make this using regular card stock or glossy card stock but I prefer the glossy card stock because it enhances the shininess of the powder. Take a look at my card.
I created this using the stamp set Mariposas created by Maya Isaksson and the stamp set Just Saying created by Marion Emberson. But let me tell you how you can make this fun technique.
1. Cut a piece of glossy card stock and ink it very well with WOW Embossing Pad.
2. Cover the entire piece with your favorite color of WOW Embossing Powder. I used the new color Banana Split WOW Embossing Powder for my sample.
7. Remove the excess and melt the powder with the WOW Heat Tool.
8. With this technique you can create background or single stamped images. I wanted a single image and I decided to cut this with my scissors.
To finalize the card, I create a card base using very vanilla card stock and a second layer that I cut using a cross stitched oval. I stamped over this oval two words included on the stamp set Just Saying. For this I used WOW Embossing Pad and Earthtone Grape WOW Embossing Powder. Also, I inked the frame of the oval using the die cut as mat.
I added a tiny butterfly that I cut with a punch on the top using a left over of the first layer of my embossing piece.
Easy and beautiful, don't you think?
I hope my project inspiring you to create and use your WOW Embossing Powders and try the new colors, they are simply gorgeous and perfect for this season.
Good morning crafty friends, I hope you're all well. So, it's been that fun time of the month where I get to create my project for the WOW! Blog. This month's theme was our favourite embossing technique and I went for coloured vellum. I love it as its so pretty and yet so simple!
I started by stamping the Secret Garden stamp with a Clear Ultra Slow Drying Embossing Pad on white vellum. I then used Opaque Bright White embossing powder over the top then melted with a heat tool. I then turned the vullum over and coloured the back of the flowers with ProMarkers.
I then layered the vellum on white card to really show off the colours and used the Just Saying stamp embossed with Pink Lady opaque powder for the sentiment. I added a pretty organza bow and placed a small button in the centre that has been embossed with Mermaids Tails Embossing Glitter.
I can't wait to see what you all create this month, enjoy!
Hello, this is Laurence to
show you my favourite technique or more exactly 2 techniques I love using with
embossing powder. I created my background with pigmenst diluted with water in a spray bottle. I used
the two triangles stamps from the "Let it snow" sheet and heat
embossed them with WOW opaque bright white powder.
I worked on a separate
sheet of paper and used a knife to apply randomly acrylic paint. When still wet
I sprinkled some WOW peppermint tea and heat embossed it.
I cut out some triangles and glued
them on my background. It is a very easy technique with random results. The
title is heat embossed with WOW metallic brass
Inside I have organized all my
embossing powders to see exactly which one to use on my project.
Hello! Victoria is on the blog today. Is your July warm and sunny? Have you gone on vacation already? I am dreaming of a journey to Oriental countries. The chic and vibrant colors of Oriental art inspired me to create this card for our July challenge "Favourite Embossing Technique" (I used two - resist effect and embossing on texture paste).
You can see video tutorial from start to finish below.
See few close ups if you want to have a closer look at the card.
The weather has been very gray and
miserable here at WOW HQ in the UK, I hope that it is a bit brighter and warmer
where you guys are! (and can you send some sunshine our way please thankyouverymuch! hehe!)
