It's Jenny here, and today I'm joining you with a simple but pretty card that uses WOW!'s Fab Foils. You can get a gorgeous effect by overlaying foils on ink blended backgrounds. I've been having so much fun recently (and chilling out) by making new ink blended combo backgrounds - just doing lots of blending. I used one of those backgrounds for my card today. I do apologise but I don't have a video this time, but watch this space for some more Fab Foil action in a forthcoming vid!
To create my ink-blended background I used Altenew inks and the following combo: Baby Pink, Butternut, Dew Drops and Eastern Sky. The way they overlap and create new colors is gorgeous, and it creates a beautiful rainbow. I used thicker cardstock, and when finished I spritzed the background with shimmer spray to give a shimmery look.
For my foiling medium, I like to have dimension, so I used Decofoil thermel gel which you can apply with a palette knife and then once it is dry, it turns clear. If you don't wait, it will squish a bit in your laminator when you foil it so be warned (you can see where it did that on my card a little, but it's ok, it's handmade!).
I used this supercute Floral Wallpaper stencil from Altenew and smoothed over the gel. When it was dry, I covered it with two strips of WOW! Fab Foil in gold and then ran it through my Minc machine but you can also use a laminator. Doesn't that gold look amazing against the rainbow background!
Because of the WOW! factor of that background, I kept the rest of the card clean and simple. I used the Fancy For You die by Altenew, die cut three times from white cardstock and adhered together. I adhered it to the background with a vellum frame mat (Nested Frame by Altenew) and then hid foam adhesive behind the letters to give some dimension.
I highly recommend you give this a go!
