VIDEO - IT'S THE SEASON - WITH ANKE KRAMER

Hi everyone, Anke here with a new card inspiration for WOW! Embossing.
You can also find a process video on the WOW! Embossing YouTube channel today.

I made a Christmas card with mixed media background and heat embossed die cuts.

First I created the background using the Snowflake Dance Stencil and modeling paste. I placed the stencil on a piece of white cardstock and applied the modeling paste. Then I poured Crystal Essential Sparkles over the paste and let it dry.

While the paste was drying I heat embossed my die cuts, an embroidery frame, trees, a small cottage and deer. I embossed the inner part of the frame using Iced Teal embossing glitter. For embossing the frame I used Metallic Gold Rich Super Fine embossing powder. For the trees I chose Bella's Forest from the Alexandra Renke collection. It's a green powder mixed with white so it looks like there is snow on the trees. I added a second layer to give the trees a glossy finish. The deer are embossed with Ulla's Cognac, also from the Alexandra Renke collection. It's a light brown mixed with gold . For the small cottage I used Twiggy, a dark brown embossing powder. Here I used an embossing pen to apply the ink because I wanted to emboss the door with Diana's Love, a deep red. I wanted snow on the roof of the cottage so I embossed it with White Puff embossing powder. With it's special texture this powder really looks like snow. I also added White Puff to the embroidery frame . The smoke, that comes out of the cottage's chimney and the moon are cut from adhesive tape. I took off the protective sheet and applied Crystal Sparkles glitter

I backed my snowflake background  with a piece of light blue paper.

Then I stamped a sentiment from the "It's The Season Sentiments" stamp set on my card base and adhered the snowflake background . Finally I added the embossed die cuts to the embroidery frame and glue it on my card together with some branches and pine cones that were left from another card.

This is my last project as guest designer for WOW! Embossing. I really enjoyed creating with their gorgeous products and I hope I could inspire you with my projects.
Thanks so much for stopping by.

VIDEO | Mixed Media Bookmarks

Hej and Welcome! Martina here with you today creating some Mixed Media Bookmarks using WOW Emossing Powders.

If you'd like to watch me crating these - just hop over to the WOW Youtube Channel

I have been stamping on Mixed Media Papers and heat embossed it with Metallic Platinum, Opaque Bright White and Clear Gloss Embossing Powders.

After everything has been heat set, I have been colouring my papers with Distress Oxide Reinkers. When the papers have been completely dry, I have been applying Embossing Ink through the "Falling Leaves" Stencil and have heat set it with Golden Vintage Lace and Burnt Toffee Embossing Powders.
Then I have die cut all feathers (each paper from the front and the back so I'll have a right and a left piece when I am glueing them together). To one of the feathers I have been adding French Toast Embossing Powder using the Seth Apter Mixed Media Brush.
To finish the Boomarks, I have been glueing the feather pieces together, not forgetting the little piece of ribbon attached between the pieces.

I really hope you liked this tutorial and feel inspired to get creative!

Thank you so much for stopping by!

Fall Fun with Pearl Gold Sparkle

Hi Crafty Friends!  I am super excited to be back with you today on the WOW Embossing Powder blog!  It is beginning to feel like fall in upstate NY.  Today's card is inspired by the beautiful fall colors and textures all around me!  So let's get started!

I started with a piece of mixed media card stock and an embossing folder from Tim Holtz.  I love these 3D folders and the textures these folders provide on card stock!  They are truly perfect for heat embossing!!!!!!  For my background I chose 3 colors of Distress Oxide Sprays:  Spiced Marmalade, Shabby Shutters, and Vintage Photo.  I sprayed these colors directly to my folder.  I then ran the folder and card stock through my die cutting machine.  I then set my back ground aside to dry.

Next I started to work on the the leaves.  I also started with a piece of mixed media paper and oxide inks, as well as mica sprays.  I placed the color down onto my glass mat, spritzed with water, and then placed the paper into the color.  I completed this several times, allowing layers of color to dry in between.  I used the following distress oxide colors:  Dried Marigold, Aged Mahogony, Forest Moss, Ground Espresso, Rusty Hinge, and Walnut Stain.  I allowed this panel to dry before die cutting.

Once my embossed background was dry, I used distress ink in Walnut Stain to add some darker color to the raised edges from the folder.  I placed my ink pad directly on the paper, gently swiping the pad on the raised edges.  I let this dry, then used my WOW embossing ink pad in the same way.  I applied ink in various sections of the card panel to the raised edges.  I then used Pearl Gold Sparkle powder on top.  I love the combination of the gold sparkle with the deep rich undertone from the distress ink.  Next I die cut this panel using a rectangle die and adhered this to an A2 card base.

Next I die cut the panel I created at the beginning using leaf die cuts from Tim Holtz.  I chose 3 different leaves from this set.  I then adhered these to my card panel using both liquid glue and foam tape.  I then chose a pre-made sentiment from my collection and adhered this with foam tape.

Thank you so much for stopping by today!  I hope today's post encourages you to take out your embossing folders and to not only dry emboss them, but also heat emboss them!  I can't wait to see what you make!

Crafty Hugs,

Natasha
