All That Glitters | Zsoka Marko

Hey crafty friends,
Zsoka here with you with my first blog post on the WOW! Embossing Powder Design Team! This month it is all about glitter! Like every girl I love glitter too! My boyfriend however, not so much haha! I didn't even notice how it covered the whole kitchen floor (my craft space is in the kitchen!). Oh well!
For my cards today I used the lovely Posie Fill-In stamps and dies bundle from Concord and 9th. I cut a piece of watercolor card stock and placed it in my stamping platform. I inked up my background stamp with WOW Embossing Pad and stamped the image. I repeated this once more to get a good coverage.

I poured WOW Bright White Regular embossing powder on it and embossed it.

I then added a light purple watercolor wash so the beautiful white grid is more visible.

It looks a bit splotchy and distressed at this point...The big areas where there's no grid are where the posies will be! Apropos posies...I stamped a bunch of them and embossed them with two different ki…

With Love - video tutorial by Ola

Hi there!

My name is Ola and this is my first post as a member of WOW crafty family.
First of all, I would like to say a big thank you for the invitation to join the team and the opportunity to craft using products I love so much.

For the January challenge ''All about hearts'' I created a clean and simple card using heat- resistant vellum and an embossing blending technique.

Close up photo shown below

For the sentiment I have used Pink and Main ''Love'' Die set which is available at WOW Embossing Powders UK.
Here is step by step video tutorial on how to make this card. Enjoy!

Thank you for stopping by and happy crafting to all of you! Ola xx

A Little Love

Hello crafty friends, how are we all? I hope alls well in your crafty worlds. This month's challenge is all about our favourite embossing techniques so here's my inspiration.....

There are so many great embossing techniques that it's very difficult to choose a favourite. In the end I went for a simple resist technique around the edges of my card. I stamped hearts from the Layered Hearts Stamp Set and embossed them with Opaque Bright White and Avocado powders.

I then spritzed the card with water and carefully added distress inks to build up the colour. I couldn't resist adding some sparkle and added a strip of double-sided tape through the centre with Sparkles in Jade sprinkled on top.

Finally I added a Big Words sentiment using Iris powder on top. I hope you like it and best of luck with the challenge!

Popped Hearts Card

Hi lovely readers! It's Fran here today with your WOW! inspiration. The hearts silicone mould is so cute I thought I would really go to town with it on this mixed media card.

I firstly stamped a card blank with the arrows stamp from the Sparkle & Shine set then layered with card and cork which I'd punched holes into.

Using the circle stamp from the Pick 'n' Mix stamps to create a pattern around the cork and highlight the punched holes which I'd set adhesive gems into.

For the cork I spread black gesso into the centre to create texture then stuck clay hearts I'd made with the WOW mould into the wet gesso. I sprinkled over Opaque White, Midas Touch and Metallic Gold Rich powders over which I melted with a heat gun. This created a lovely shimmer over the black and the powders picked up the peaks and tooth of the gesso.

Have a wonderful day Fran x

Wind Her Up! Embossing on Metal

Hello WOW! fans!  Jan here to share an altered energy drink can. My boys love these energy drinks and now I'm glad they do :)  I've used WOW! Metallic Copper on the can itself as well as part of the image.  The embossing powder adds such a nice texture to my altered projects.  Papers are "Olde Curiousity Shoppe" by Graphic 45.

Pretty In Pink and Grey - an Old-Fashioned Springtime

Hi, everybody! Anne here with a sweet card to celebrate the first day of Spring and the wonder of WOW Embossing Powders.  For this little project, I used Suzy West's Skyline Grey Puff powder for the first time and I have to tell you that I love how it looks on my card.  I used it with the WOW "Flowers" background stamp to create the patterned background. It is a very dark shad of grey and adds a little bit of dimension to the stamped pattern.

The adorable image is a digi stamp by one of my favorite artists, Krista Smith, of Saturated Canary.  Isn't the toy zeppelin cute? In addition to the Slyline Grey, I used Suzy West's Earthtone Olive and Metallic Gold Rich Pale Regular Wow powders.
Please visit my blog to see more photos and details about my project.  Your comments are both welcome and appreciated.  Thanks for stopping by today.  I hope I have inspired you to start working on your own Springtime projects.  Until next time... Happy crafting!

Video Tutorial Tuesday - Double embossing with WOW!!

Good morning!  Jennifer Roach here today and I have a tutorial video to show you how to create double embossed backgrounds using embossing folders and embossing powders and how to add some WOW! to some store bought doilies.  Hope you enjoy the video!

And here is the card I completed with the items I created in the video.  I added some white paint around the edges of the double embossed background before adhering to my 4" x 8" card base.

Here's a closeup of the embossed background and the doily.

Supplies:
WOW! Embossing products:  Suzy West Candy Counter collection:  Cotton Candy (blue), Sour Lemon (yellow)
Inks:  Versamark for embossing, Colorbox red chalk ink for colouring chipboard
Papers:  Wilton doily, white Georgia Pacific cardstock, Jillibean Soup patterned paper
Accessories:  Maya Road chipboard, paint, Viva Decor pearl pens, Stickles, SRM Sticker, Offray ribbon, Prima flower

Metal Flower Tutorial

Hello WOW! fans :)  Jan here today to share a "Metal Flower" technique.  They're actually aluminum as they are made using Pepsi cans.  YES!  If you have Sizzix or Accucut flower dies, it works like a dream.  I don't know how this would work with other dies or diecut systems.  I've used Tattered Florals, Sizzix Die and Accucut Diecut System. and WOW!  Rich Gold Pale Embossing Powder.

The two flowers near the top have one coat of embossing powder.  Notice on the bottom flower, I used 2 coats and it caused the embossing powder to crack.  I like the look of both but if you don't like the cracked look, one coat will suffice.
Another close up. Use caution as these are aluminum and the edges may be sharp. Here's how to make your own. Start with an aluminum can.  I used wire cutters to cut through where the drink hole was.  Scissors work well for the rest of the cutting on the can. Cut the top and bottom off the can.  You'll end up with a rectangular piece that is …
