Summer Planning By Jaine

Like many people I'm a big fan of planners and planning and at this moment in time I have 6 actually on the go, all different sizes and functions!

Even though I use stickers and papers on the pages, I'm always happy if I can create my own little page decorations. If I'm not feeling lazy I'll use stamps and stencils to pretty up the pages and create little extra's like tabs. Embossing powders add an extra layer of depth and colour to what would be flat stamping so it's worth making the effort.

I absolutely love the Trio, The Ferry Man, it captures summer so well I think with its vibrant colour scheme! Simply by stamping, die cutting and layering up this little cluster I think I've managed to brighten up the coming week.

Don't forget a little tab at the top. I made this one in a couple of minutes by die cutting from some of my rejected pieces!

Have a good weekend everyone.

Summer Dandelions by Jaine

The theme this month is 'Favourite Stamps' and one of mine is 'Make A Wish' set which has summer written all over it! What could be more beautiful than a dandelion head in the summer sun, ready to burst at any breath of wind?

Creating a watercolour background keeps the main design simple and is a lovely way to show off the Rose Gold powder. Luckily I already had the scrapbook embellishments in my stash which went perfectly with the design.

What's your favourite WOW! stamp set?

Subtle Embossing by Sarah Jackman Read

Hi crafty friends, it's Sarah here with my inspiration card for this month's anything goes challenge. I hope you like it!
1 Cut Kraft card 14.5cm square and run a clear embossing pad along the edges. Sprinkle Metallic Copper embossing powder over the top, tap off the excess and melt with a heat tool. Glue to the front of a 15cm square white card blank.

2 Cut white card 13.5cm square and stamp dandelion clocks from the Make a Wish Stamp Set with a clear embossing pad. Sprinkle with Clear Gloss super Fine powder, tap off the excess and melt with a heat tool.

3 Carefully rub a little turquoise ink over the embossed image gradually building up the colour. Stamp a sentiment in brown ink towards the right hand side and emboss with Metallic Copper powder.

4 Wrap ribbon under the embossed image and attach to the card front. Make a large bow and glue on the right hand side. Cover a wooden button with a clear embossing pad, sprinkle with Coastal Embossing Glitter and tap off the excess. Mel…

Pretty Birthday Card

Hi everyone, it's Sarah here with a project that I have made for this months Wow! nature theme.

Using the Wow! Embossing Powder Collage Stamp, I stamped toward the bottom of the card and heat embossed with Wow! White Pearl Embossing powder. The dandelion clock is from Wow! Embossing Powder 'Make a wish' Stamp Set which I stamped using Wow! Metallic Platinum Sparkle Embossing Powder. Also from the make a wish stamp set, I stamped and heat embossed the birthday sentiment in Wow! Silver Embossing Powder and also stamped and heat embossed a couple of little butterflies in Wow! White Pearl Embossing powder. I added ribbon to the sentiment message to make it stand out and mounted this onto the card with foam pads.

Up-cycled Tag Book

Hi Folks, Rachel here with my project for this month's challenge.
I've wanted to make a Tag Book for ages using the cardboard tubes from toilet rolls and this challenge gave me the perfect opportunity.

I stuck one end of each tube together, covered them in papers and then added a strip of  WOW Fab Foil in Pink around the open edge using double sided tape. I added couple of book rings, some ribbon, a title hand written using a WOW Embossing Pen and embossed with Earthtone Olive and a pretty rose using our new Melt It Powder mixed with Pastel Pink E/P and poured into a silicone mould. This completed my pockets for the tags.
The tags were die-cut from old off-cuts of Mountboard and I decided to have a play using just two of our stamp sets, Make a Wish and ME Collage. The same design twice but with totally different looks - all done with Distress Inks and WOW! Embossing Powder.
These little books are great to add to and could be mini scrapbooks, technique books, or whatever takes …

Monochrome with Pearl Powders

So we're into August and its my turn, Emma (aka The Sparkly Fairy) to share with you my creation. The WOW DT challenge this month is to create a monochrome project using the Pearl Powders.

These are quite magical! In the pot they are simply white powder, but if you look at the swatch chart I made, you will see how they turn into the most fantastic colours. The colours can also be altered by using different coloured inks for stamping the image.

To make the above card I used the Silver Pearl powder which again looks completely white in the pot. I stamped the dandelions from the Make A Wish Stamp set and embossed with the powder. I then stamped the butterflies from the same set, embossed them and cut them out. This gives them a 3D look. I stamped and embossed the Believe sentiment from the Journalling set of stamps. I cut out the design with deckle scissors and dipped the edges into the powder.  Finally I put the card through an embossing folder to give extra texture.
