Wow! You rock my world

Hello there, craft people!
It is Victoria here today on the blog with my very first DT project. I have to admit, I adore heat embossing in every way! So today I am sharing a card embossed in a few ways. I've made it for a fan of classic rock music and computers.

I like to create custom backgrounds, so I started with a regular black cardstock and applied red texture paint through the stencil. While the paste was still wet, I sprinkled some Heart Throb powder here and there and melted it wih a WOW! Heat Tool.

Then I added a couple of paper pieces, which were embossed with a folder and sprayed and inked with a black ink a bit. Between the layers of paper I placed die-cut gears, covered with ink with a help of Wow Clear Ultra Slow Drying Embossing Pad and embossed with Ebony and Heart Throb powders. Actually I believe that use of similiar powders on different elements helps to keep the project together.

Stars are die-cut out of grey cardstock and covered with Heart Throb powder (larger one) and Midas Touch (smaller one). Also I added a detail of real clock and used double emsossing on it (Heart Throb and Midas Touch). I covered the sentiment (a piece of chipboard) with Heart Throb powder to make it pop on the card. Few brads, splashes of white acrylic paint and enamel dots were the finishing touches.

Flower Card by Susanne

Hi my dear crafty friends!

Susanne here and this is my debut at the WOW! Embossing Powder Blog today. I am very excited and proud that I am part of this talented team! I like to share this colourful flower card. I started the card with a watercolour background. Therefor I used my inktense blocks and added lots of gold dots on top using the Gold Rich Powder together with the Funky Border Strip clear stamps. I picked the round dots, stamped them with clear embossing ink side by side and added the powder. To give it a more random look I wiped away some of the powder with a brush, before I heat set it. I smeared the edges of the background layer with white acrylic paint.

Let's talk about the embellishments: I used different die cuts that go under my paper flowers.

The dies to create these 3d paper flowers come from My Favourite Things and Marianne Design. Some are layered ones, some are roll up flowers. To give them more interest I added Heart Throb Embossing Glitter to their edges. I just pressed them onto the Embossing Pad, so that the edges were inked up. I used Iced Silver Glitter on the white rolled rose.

I'm sure you'd like to get some more information on this beautiful feather. I used the Feathers Silicone Mold. I combined Melt-it Powderr with Pink Lady and Heart Throb. I don't mix it very much, so that the feather gets different shades of color.

The sentiment is also a die, unfortunately I can't remember from which company. I inked it up completely and embossed it with Gold Rich powder.

I hope you like my card. Thanks for stopping by today! xx Susanne.

With Love from WOW

Wow embossing powder - With Love From Wow

With Love from WOW by Sarah Jackman Read

Hi everyone, I'm Sarah and I'm here with my first project for the Wow Design Team. I had great fun experimenting with all the WOW goodies, here's how to create my card.

Create a kraft card blank 13 x 18cm with the fold at the top and run double sided tape around the front edges. Sprinkle with Mermaid Tails Embossing Glitter and melt with a heat tool.

Cut a piece of pink card 12 x 17cm and stamp a central panel with the Chrysanthemum stamp. Sprinkle with Mermaid Tails Embossing Glitter and melt.

Cut white card 11.5 x 16.5cm, stamp the Chrysanthemum stamp through the centre, sprinkle with bonding powder then melt. Lay a piece of teal Fab Foil right side up over the stamped image and lay paper on top. Iron gently or run through a laminator then peel off the foil to reveal the foiled image.

Cut a 2.5cm strip out of the centre of the foiled image and replace with acetate then attach on the pink card with foam pads. Stamp a sentiment from the Everyday Sentiments set and emboss with Ebony powder. Die cut into a tag, thread twine through the ends then attach in the centre of the acetate with foam pads.

Wrap the twine around the back of the pink card then glue to the card front. Create embellishments using Melt-it Powder, Shocking Pink Glitter and a heart silicone mould and finish with gems.

I hope that's inspired you to grab your WOW stash and get creating!

Have fun,
Sarah xx

Hi everyone, this is Martha Lucia here and I am excited to share with you my first official post in WOW blog! The embossing powders have always been one of the my best friends in my creations and techniques. Today I want to share a card that I made using watercolor and WOW Opaque Bright White Regular Embossing Powder and two of the new WOW Embossing Stamps.

To make this card I used watercolor paper and I stamped over it the new Secret Garden WOW Stamp for Embossing using WOW Embossing Pad covered with WOW Opaque Bright White Regular Embossing Powder. Then I melted the powder with the Heat Tool. I colored each flower using a combination of distress ink applied with an aqua painter.

For the general background I applied the distress ink directly with a blending tool and then I sprayed it with water, before pasting this layer to the card base and adding the sentiment that I stamped using the same WOW Opaque Bright White Regular Embossing Powder. This time, I stamped a sentiment from the new set Mr Wow's Wonderful Words over a piece of Blackberry Bliss card stock, the same color of the base of the card.

Maybe you noted something special on the button that I used as embellishment. Yes, originally this was a natural wood button and I decided to covered it partially, first with WOW Royal Crush Embossing Glitter and then with a few touches of WOW Opaque Bright White Regular Embossing Powder to add more texture to my card. I just had to ink it with WOW Embossing Pad before applying the embossing powders and then melting it with the heat tool.

I hope my project inspired you to experiment more with your embossing powders and share with us your creations in our Monthly Challenge.

See you soon!

Feathers of Fancy

Hi everyone! It's Fran here with you today sharing my first WOW! DT project with you. Excitement!

I'm a big fan of feahers so I fell in love with the Wow silicone mould and wanted to create a simple yet punchy card with it.

I started the background by inking a piece of card then I rubbed Wow's embossing ink pad over and added Iced Silver powder on top and melted.

For the resin feather I used a combination of Bluetiful and Black Ebony embossing powders which I mixed with Melt It powder in two seperate batches; Bluetiful  for the tip of the feather and Black Ebony for the bottom part.

I dropped some dots of the remaining black hot Melt It liquid onto my heat resistant craft sheet to make my own mini resin gems and aren't they just the cutest things?

Dimension was added to the card with a piece of Ice Blue foil which I adhered and rubbed Wow embossing ink. Royal Crush and Pearl White powders  were then sprinkled over and melted to create a 3D, metallic, molten surface.

A cotton doily received the same treatment with Ultra High Copper and Royal Crush powders.

The card was finished with a greeting from the Pick 'n' Mix stamps, stamping details around the edges of the card with stamps from the Sparkle & Shine set and some ink splats.

Have a creative Monday! Fran xx

Valentine's Card by Laurence Colling

Hello everyone, this is Laurence here and I am very excited  to share my first blog post.
Valentine's Day is in a few days and I wanted to create a card on that theme. The Wow buttons mould has a beautiful button in the shape of a heart  and was perfect to use on my project.
I first mixed Wow melt-it with WOW Pink Lady and WOW Cha Cha Cha to add a glittery effect (¼ teaspoon both) in a foil case. I hold the foil with a peg and started heating it under the the foil. When completely molten, I poured the liquid into the mould and waited until it had cooled down. It was very easy and quick embellishment. I had some liquid left and let drop a tiny quantity on my craft sheet to have my own "dots" that coordinate perfectly with the button.

I used watercolor paper and dilute watercolor with water on a separate piece of  plastic bag. Then I turned it over my card, gently pressed it down and moved it to have add more color on the left side of the card. When completely dried I placed a stencil and applied clear embossing ink onto the stencil. After having removed the stencil, I sprinkled WOW Opaque Bright White EP and embossed it. The sentiment is also heat embossed with WOW Opaque Bright EP and I left some paper around each word when I cut it out.

I hope you will be inspired and join our monthly challenge.
