Silver & Purple Gradation Card

Hello! Nicole here and I am back with another brand-new card to share with you today. Actually today's card will be the last project I am sharing as a DT member for WOW. It has been so great being in the team and sharing my passion for heat embossing with all of you.

So, as a last project, I wanted to share something colorful and pretty, AND easy to create! I used watercolor paper and stamped De-Vine stamp set with Versamark. I used my favorite power of all, the super fine Silver embossing powder and heat set it. I think the pattern of this stamp set is just so gorgeous!

Then, I used Seedless Preserves and Dusty Concord Distress Inks and inked up the whole surface. This create resist and dye the non-heat set portion of the paper. I love how those dark purple colors make the silver images pop out.

I simply die cut the main piece with some stitched rectangular die and used foam dots to pop it out on a white cardbase. I added few sequins to dress up the card front and added sentiment.

I hope you enjoyed today's project! Thank you for stopping by.

And boy has our Design Team been having fun with their goodies! Today we have Sue O'Connell and Jenifer Cowles on the blog with their projects using WOW! and UmWow products:

Jenifer Cowles:
Welcome to the Wow and UmWow hop.  Can I just tell you these are about 2 of my most favorite products.  I just love the little Um Wow Butterflies.  I wrapped a little piece of wire around the middle and they look like they are flying around the flowers on the tag.

The tag started around one of the new Wow Embossing powder colors, Chocolate Caramel Pearl, and let me tell you it is lovely.

Here is a close up of my cluster.  I have some flowers, DCWV  and old book papers, and also some May Arts ribbons.
I hope you have enjoyed the hop today make sure you stop by everyday to be inspired by this awesome team.

Hi Everyone

At WOW HQ this month we have been given the opportunity to work with some
fantastic stencils and chipboard embellishments from umwowstudio.  I couldn't wait to get hold of my stash of tags, cogs, butterfly stencil and hexagon stencil.
This also coincides with a great blog hop, so follow the trail of blogs for a chance to win some goodies this month.

page 1

I started with a plain canvas purchased from the Pound shop.  I then covered this with white gesso.  I then sprayed this with browns, gold and green inks and let it dry, but not before tipping the canvas up to allow the ink to run down the canvas.

I then got my distress inks out and used them to sponge through the butterfly and hexagon stencils with brown, green and red distress inks.

I then used the same technique for the chipboard shapes.  I firstly inked up the shapes with Versamark and sprinkled WOW clear Ultra High embossing powder over them and heat set. I then inked them up again with Versamark and added different embossing powders and  heat set. On the cogs I used, Ebony, Pepper, Bark, Gold Rich and Verdigris.  On the butterfly I used the same but in smaller amounts and added one further layer of pepper embossing powder all over.  On the Tag I have used Bright White with a sprinkle of Ebony added and heat set.  Whilst the embossing powder is hot and liquid,  I have inked up CREATE word from the 'ME collage' stamps and embedded the word in the tag.  I have then added a piece of gross grain ribbon.

Finally stuck this all together on the canvas with Pinflair silicone glue.

Thank you for stopping by!

Summer Fun

Welcome Wow fans!!  This is Jenifer here with you today to share my summer project.  I went with a fun layout about splashing in the water.

Wow has a large variety of shades of blue powders and I wanted to try and create the illusion of bubbles.  I used a Dreamweaver stencil and some whipped spackle from Faber Castell.  Before the whipped spackle could dry I put a small amount of several blue Wow powders over the top and heated them with a heat gun.

Can you see how cool this looks in the close up?  It is so hard to get a good picture of all the sparkle, but it is there and I LOVE how it turned out.

Here is another close up.

I hope you have enjoyed my summer project for today and I hope you give this technique a try.

Here Comes The Sun by Trish

For the Summer theme this month, I decided to create a journal page...
I've been playing around with whimsy figures a lot recently, so I felt the need to add one here as well lol!

My sun is a triple embossed yellow circle, with black embossed stencilling on top... one of my favourite things to do with embossing powder!

My VERY favourite thing to do with embossing powder is to use it to add splatters to the backgrounds of my pages! I've done that here too....

My whimsy girl was sketched out, then coloured with pencils. I gave her a red spotty dress and a green heart to give her a little 'strawberry' colour scheme... more Summery imagery!

I hope you like her!

Summer Theme

Here's my post for this month on the theme of "Summer".  I decided to make a small canvas and use some of my silicone moulds to create some summer flowers for this project.

This canvas uses a variety of techniques - stamping, inking, using silicone moulds and drawing with  my WoW Embossing Pen which hasn't seen the light of day for quite a while now.

The background was inked in blue, then I added random dabs of embossing ink with Seafoam white powders to make my white  clouds. I then stamped the background flower stamp onto  the bottom of the canvas and embossed with yellow and orange powders.  Seafoam white dandelions were added in various sizes. The flowers were made using silicone moulds and melted embossing powders.

To finish I inked around the outside with a brown ink pad then I stuck the flowers on with a glue gun but silicone glue would work just as well.

Summer sunshine

I loved our theme this month and I'm really pleased with how the card turned out.
This is my project for this month....
I created the blue background by using blue glitz embossing glitter, metallic blue ultra high and totally teal embossing glitter.
The sun and it's rays are created using lemon regular, sunny yellow regular, sunset orange, Easter sparkle, peach gleam and  yellow regular.
I hope you like it.
We would love it if you would join in our challenge this month.

Happy crafting

Finally it's starting to feel like summer even where I live. Today we are having the last day of school for my kids and also my son is having his 9th birthday. Now the summer really begins, I so hope for some good weather ahead. And summer is also the theme for this months challenge here at the WOW blog. I made this card with summery colors using two of the stamp sets from the latest release, coming to your retailer soon! The sets are called Flight of Fancy and Big Words and they are designed by me which makes me extra happy to show them to you! I embossed the background with Gold Satin Pearl Embossingpowder and watercolored it after heat setting the powder. The Gold Satin Pearl is a softer kind of pearlescent gold and I love it together with watercolors. The sentiment is embossed with Black Glint embossingpowder, it sparkles so pretty but it's still crisp and black. I blinged the card with a lot of sequins. I hope you like the stamps, the other two sets in the latest release is also very fun! Marion Emberson has designed them and I know you'll love them!

Have a lovely summer!

Hooray for Summer!...

Hello there!

I missed you all last month!  Please accept my apologies for my absence.

This month's theme is 'Summer' and I don't know about you, but I'm sure glad it's finally arrived!  I love the sunshine and the happiness it seems to invoke in everyone.

My project for this month is, unsurprisingly, a card!  It's also that time of year when Father's Day is fast approaching so I took this opportunity to get one of the cards I need to have made.

When I think Summer, I think beach, I think blue skies and crystal blue sea so I decided to go with it. Out came the Distress Inks and I set about creating a background, which hopefully is reminiscent of a beach scene with light clouds in the sky just above the horizon of a clear blue sea...yes, I do need a holiday!!

I then stamped the wide 'dotty' border from Funky Border Strips in VersaMark ink and lightly sprinkled Primary Lagoon embossing powder over it, ensuring not to cover the pattern completely.  To get the excess powder off without coating all of the wet ink, I've found a very scientific technique...spin the card round as quickly as possible so that it is upside down and hopefully the powder will fall off without catching the rest of the ink!!  I then covered the remaining exposed ink with Pastel Glacier Mint powder to give this two-tone type effect.

Above this the sentiment from Everyday Sentiments is embossed in Metalline Dark Blue, which gives a lovely finish that's not quite matt, not quite metallic and not quite pearlescent but a kind of mix of all three...that is the best way I can describe it!  I really like the finish :)

I hope you are all enjoying the Summer, wherever you are, and that you have a go at joining in with us here this month!

Summer at Last ....

June15 003.1

Hi Everyone

This month at WOW HQ is
I thought of orange and yellow and so used Distress inks and Marvy blending Blox in those colours.  I used dies from Spellbinders for the small flowers and matts.  The large flower is a Spellbinder bauble blossom 2 and the lupins have been made from a stencil called garden from dalphimium, then coated with WOW clear embossing powder and heat set to give a tile effect.

The washi tape is Tim Holtz words  and I have some alphabet stickers which have been in my craft stash for ages,  and see the light of day every so often. The cord and droplets are from Country Cookin.
The background was made with sprays in gold, yellow and orange, and the background was made with WOW stamps using Memento London Fog ink and distress ink in spiced marmalade.

Have a great week -

Adding Accents to your Layout

This month's theme is Summer! Today I wanted to share how easy it is to add some accents to your Summer layouts with embossing powder. WOW has so many cool products, powders, glitters, stamps, moulds and all kinds of color choices that it's sometimes hard to decide what to use!

I wanted to do a simple Summer layout with some photos that I had and decided to just use the powders as accents. So I used them on my chipboard elements for the page. The title and the little splashes and circles! And I only used four colors.

This is my finished page:

The colors I used were Calypso, Primary Sunset Orange, Opaque Primary Azura and Yellow. The orange looks a little red because my chipboard was bare instead of white, so it show a little darker, same with the title letters. They look lighter in real life!

I used old paper from my stash too. This layout came together really quickly, but the embossing makes the page pop. I urge you to try using some embossing powder for accents on your pages, you will really have a lot of fun!!! Thanks so much for dropping by!!!

Add embossed Sunshine to your cold summer

Hello my dear crafty friends! Irit is here and this is my post made for our Summer challenge.
This new lo I made for myself, I and me... I am not much a " selfie" scrapper, but when I have the  right products  that fit a fair photo, I do make such layouts. So here is one of those " about me" pieces.
I used Paper House Productions papers and stickers and the photo was just a perfect match to the background paper. But is was too dull. So I ended with Tando stencil and WOW! Embossing Powders " sunshine" made with texture paste and heat embossing over the wet surface.
Then I found this perfect FabScraps chipboard title and with a little help of VersaMark and embossing powder I made it shiny and a good fit to the " sun" above. It was this European summer in Latvia... Summer without sun. So I added one and made it my special summer vacation page.
