Frame It!

Hi crafty friends,  It's been a lovely day here on the Isle of Wight, I hope you've had good weather too! My DT project this month has been inspired by a project we made at the WOW! Training Day earlier in the month. Myself and my DT buddy Fran were lucky enough to attend and it was great fun! For my non card project I've decorated a frame. Firstly, I covered the frame with a layer of PVA glue, scrunched up tissue paper and laid it on top. Next, I die-cut a floral design which I cut up and glued to several areas of the frame. I then went over the whole frame with a WOW Clear Ultra Slow Drying Ink Pad and sprinkled Mermaids Tails, Iridium and Pistachio Embossing Glitters over the top then melted with a heat gun. I mixed Iridium Embossing Glitter with Bonding Powder and poured into a silicon heart mould to create the embellishments. The sentiment and Mariposa butterflies were embossed with Opaque British Summer Regular Powder. Good luck with the chal

Define & Shine Canvas

Hello everyone, It's mixed media time! canvas shows how great embossing powders can look combined with stencils to enrich the backgrounds of your project. I do love creating canvases mixing textures and colours so really enjoyed combining foils, embossing powders with my embellishments.   For the background I colour washed the canvas with water colour inks then added details with stencils and powders (Pearl Gold, White Peal, Rich Gold Ultra High). Adding layers of foiling details gave an extra pop and shine to the canvas. I have used the feathers silicone mould with Melt-It powder to create these two beautiful embellishments which I have used nestled into the leaves and flowers.    Hopefully I have given you some inspiration on different ways to use your powders aside from stamping!  Have a wonderful week xxx Fran Where to Buy: UK Shop US Shop

Watercolor Tag by Susanne

Hi my dear crafty friends. Today I'd like to share a Butterfly tag with you. I love creating tags, because you can try out new techniques easily and you can use the finished tags in so many ways. I add them to Art Journal pages or my planner. Another idea is, to use them for some wall decor and also on gifts. For this tag I started with a watercolor background. I used watercolor sprays together with Brusho powders. I used black pigment ink to stamp my butterflie,s because you'll get a better impression on watercolor paper. As I don't want to wait until the ink is dry, I used WOW! Clear matt dull powder on top of the black ink. I add some color to the butterflies with pastel pencils. The tiny background butterflies are stamped with Archival Ink, just randomly. I am a big glitter fan, so I decided to ink the edges of my tag with embossing ink and add WOW! Turkish Nights Embossing Glitter. I add some sewing to the border for more interest. The title is cut
Hello everybody, this is Laurence (laury55) with a quick tutorial today to create a scrapbooking layout. I used a patterned paper but wanted to add more interest to my background. I adhered washi tape and sprinkle WOW under the Sea embossing glitter in random areas. The sign of the city of Nimes, in the south of France shows a palm tree and a crocodile. The stamps of the flights of fancy sheet were perfect as the floral design is in harmony with the palm tree. The leaves are stamped with  WOW embossing inkpad and heat embossed with WOW ebony embossing powder. The third leaf (in the mdidle actually) is stamped with black ink only.   Material Wow embossing pad WOW Under the Sea Embossing Glitter WOW Primary Ebony Regular WOW Flights of Fancy Where to Buy: UK Shop US Shop   Pin It Now!

Black Embossed Resist

Hello dear friends, Martha Lucia here to share with you a quick  trending technique that I decided to experiment with this month that I want to create anything but a card. The technique is called Black Embossed Resist and I used a pre-fabric pillow box that is originally craft. Take a look of my project: I love to use this kind of packages to put inside the gift cards or any small presents and since Graduation Season is coming up, I am almost ready for this, I just bought some of plain pillow boxes in a craft store and I started the decoration process to make these more special. Creating this package was very easy !! I stamped several times one image of the stamp set Sparkle & Shine using the pigment ink Splendor Circus Collection over one side of the pillow box. I covered all the images with WOW Clear Gloss Regular Embossing Powder and I melted the powder with the Heat Tool . Then I repeated all the same processes on the other side of the pillow box. I starte

Steampunk notebook

Hi there, crafty friends! It is Victoria here today. Can you believe it is May already?.. This month our theme is "Anything but a card", so I created a steampunk notebook for my husband - it was our 10 anniversary on May,3 and that is a part of a gift. For making the cover I took two cardboard pieces 10*18 cm each, a piece of fabric about 30*20 cm, and also a piece of felt for softness. I glued the felt to the cardboard and then covered it with fabric, as usual. Then I coloured the fabric with red and brown sprays and covered it with clear gloss medium for waterproof and shiny look. When it dried, I set the eyelets and rings.
