Hey Goofy You - a layout by Riikka Kovasin

Hello there lovelies! It's Riikka here today to share a layout with you. The theme of the month is "self-made embellishments" and the first thing that popped to my head was the half pearls. I also made some other embellishments of a sort to the page, too.
The topic of my page is my younger daughter who is a little show woman. I took this picture while she was helping me to take a few photos by holding the background upright and popped her head to the shot. That grin and the impulsiveness of the situation tell a lot about her, kind of is her.

I wanted the page to be happy and whimsical, like she is, so I used pinks and peachy colors in it. I first created the background using one of the new stamp sets by Marion called "Round and Round". Then I added some watercolor in the mix. After that was the time to create the embellishments - I used "Bright White" embossing powder to make myself a self-made transparency and "Queen of Hearts" to make th…

Summer Planning By Jaine

Like many people I'm a big fan of planners and planning and at this moment in time I have 6 actually on the go, all different sizes and functions!

Even though I use stickers and papers on the pages, I'm always happy if I can create my own little page decorations. If I'm not feeling lazy I'll use stamps and stencils to pretty up the pages and create little extra's like tabs. Embossing powders add an extra layer of depth and colour to what would be flat stamping so it's worth making the effort.

I absolutely love the Trio, The Ferry Man, it captures summer so well I think with its vibrant colour scheme! Simply by stamping, die cutting and layering up this little cluster I think I've managed to brighten up the coming week.

Don't forget a little tab at the top. I made this one in a couple of minutes by die cutting from some of my rejected pieces!

Have a good weekend everyone.

Hello, I love you - a layout by Riikka Kovasin

Heippa and glimmering, glittering July to you from Riikka! This month we are all about embossing glitters here at Wow Embossing Powder blog. Here's my take on the subject! I've been doing several different project types this year but even though I love mixed media really much I still somehow identify myself as a scrapbooker. So for this glitter theme I thought to do a layout with some glitter touches.

The same applies to glitter as to so many elements in crafting - contrasts heighten each other. So if you want to glitter to glimmer even more, add something mat beside it! So that's why this layout has plain paper elements with the glittered elements, to really emphasize the different surfaces.
If you'd like to see how I made the page and where I used the lovely embossing glitters Wow has in their repertoire in this layout, please see the step by step underneath. To read about the story behind the photo and the page, please continue until the end of the post.

Step 1. I…

October challenge - Embossing Pen

Hey there WOW fans -- Tanisha here with a fun challenge for you!!  I want you to whip out your embossing pens and go to town.  If you're like me, then you have a ball with embossing powders and ink and stencils, but often forget about embossing pens.  E. Pens are a terrific way to add little details to embellishments or add definition to your doodles.

I used WOW's embossing pen with opaque bright white powder to highlight my freestyled scalloped border seen here.

I used the embossing pen to trace chipboard stars onto the background and then embossed with bright opaque white powder.
Here, I added a little sparkle to the camera embellishment with Neutral Ultra Shimmer Embossing Glitter.   I simply used the embossing pen to color the areas that I wanted to emboss.

Now, it's your turn to show us what you can do with WOW Embossing Powders and an embossing pen.    Simply create a project and add the link to your project in the comments section.  One lucky challenge participant wil…

Making it Edgy!

Hey all! Tina here with a layout to share with you! I recently got a new shipment of WOW powders... and let me tell you... they are AMAZING!! They suit me to a "T"!!
For todays project, I am showcasing 2 powders...
*WOW Metalic Copper Regular
*WOW Primary Ebony Regular
*WOW Black Glint Embossing Glitter
Check it out...
HELLO BEAUTIFUL

In creating this project, I did lots of paper tearing. Once torn, I dipped the edges into Watermark ink, and then into embossing powder. Once heat set, the look completely metalic! So cool! The music paper was dipped into the Primary Ebony regular first, then the copper. It created a cool burnt look. The striped paper at the top and bottom were both dipped only in the copper
I created the large flowers using Spellbinders Siral Blossoms Three. Once assembled, I embossed the edges using the copper embossing powder. It really brings them to life!

The big flourish is a chipboard piece from Magistical Memories. I covered the entire piece with Watermark ink,…

Candy Counter Collection makes me SMILE!

Hi everyone! I hope you are all having a fabulous weekend awaiting the fabulous CHA releases! I know I am on the edge of my seat here in Sunny Australia waiting and wishing I was there in person to see all the yummy goodies.
Today I wanted to share with you all a quick and easy quilting technique I have used on a layout using WOW Stamps and WOW Emboss Powders.

This was really was quite easy to create and with a square punch would be even easier (I realised I should have used my square punch AFTER cutting all the squares out LOL). Firstly you will need to grab some spare white cardstock and pick the colours you would like to use for your bakground. I have used colours from the Suzy West Candy Counter Collection including Cotton Candy, Gummi Bear Green & Bubblegum. Next up you need to grab your background stamp (I have used WOW Brocade Background stamp) and stamp your versamark or embossing adhesive onto your white cardstock doing one at a time. Sprinkle your powder generously over th…
