Man Eclectic

Hi Everyone

Don't ask me what I've eaten or drunk this month but I've gone all eclectic.  My bargin of the week has to be finding a bag of 50 bottle tops in Wilkinsons for £1!(DIY wine and beer department)  I've used one in this weeks card.  We were asked to design a manly card and after being inspired by  of studio 490 (a fav blog of mine)I created this using WOW products.....

Materials used:
  • 5.5 x 5.5 ins thick card stock
  • Different backing papers
  • Die cut rectangle frame
  • Metal corner
  • Shrink plastic
  • Craft metal
  • Grungepaper
  • Bottle top
  • Archival ink in black
  • Versamark
  • Tim Holtz die - Heart Wing
  • Tim Holtz spectacles stamp
  • Circle punches
  • Stamp staying 'Each day is a gift'
  • Stamp of phrenology head stamped onto newspaper
  • Tim Holtz brads and clock face hand
  • Old newspaper
  • Rubber washers
  • Black Stazon.
  • Distress Inks - black soot, peeled paint, mustard seed, fired brick, faded jeans, forrest moss, broken china
  • Sewing Tape ribbon
  • Wow embossing powders:  ebony  olive earth tone  blueberry  clear  gold
  •  Wow Stamps:  fancy border  childs play  vintage  gratitude  call me    everyday sentiments
    1. Take the card stock and glue some cogs backing paper onto it.  Sand the edges and ink up with black soot distress ink.
    2. Ink a piece of ruler ribbon to match your card colours.
    3. Take the card rectangle and glue a different backing paper onto it.  Go around the edge with black soot followed by WOW ebony embossing powder and heat.
    4. Stamp a sentiment up the left side of the rectangle.
    5. Take another piece of backing paper, stamp some swirls/lace effect at the top and emboss with WOW olive embossing powder.  Glue onto the back of the rectangle, in the centre.
    6. Stamp WOW  'childs play' stamps with archival ink onto shrink plastic and with a round punch, punch these out, edge each one with distress ink, heat and shrink.
    7. Stamp the WOW telephone from 'call me' onto craft metal using Stazon and cut out.  Use an embossing tool and mould the telephone.
    8. Stamp the grungepaper wing with the WOW 'funky border' and colour with distress ink.
    9. Draw and cut a 'crown' out of cardboard and glue newspaper over this.  Then stamp the WOW 'funky border' over it in versamark and sprinkle black ebony embossing powder on it.  Heat set.
    10. Stamp out onto grungepaper the WOW flower from 'gratitude' using versamark and set with ebony embossing powder.  Cut out and colour with distress inks.  Use a brad for the centre.
    11. Take an ATC (artist trading card) and glue the phrenology head on it, sponging around the edge with distress ink.  Colour in with distress inks/water.
    12. Stamp out the Tim Holtz glasses in versamark and sprinkle with WOW earth tone blueberry embossing powder,  heat set.
    13. Pin the glasses and clock hand to the face with a brad.
    14. Stamp out in versamark and sprinkle ebony embossing powder on the words 'just because' from the WOW everyday sentiments onto a piece of white card and colour with distress inks. Use brads each side of the word.
    15.  Take the crown stamp from WOW 'vintage' and stamp onto white card stock then use a small circle punch.  Colour it in with distress inks.  Glue this to the bottom of the bottle top and melt some clear embossing powder or use glossy accents to cover it.  Let it dry.  Take the crown from the Tim Holtz die, stamp in versamark the WOW 'fancy border' over it and use ebony embossing powder.  Ink up with distress inks then glue this to the side of the bottle top with pinflair silicone glue adding dimension.
    16. Take 3 sizes of rubber washers (the type used for your water taps at home.  You can purchase a bag of these from B & Q) Sponge versamark onto them then sprinkle gold emossing powder over them and heat.  Don't worry if they are not covered,  they are supposed to look grungy.  Glue one on top of the other and place in the right hand bottom corner of the project.
    17. Glue the metal corner to the top left side of the rectangle.
    18. Put the card together
