Floral Cards with Jeannie

Hi! My name is Jeannie Lieu and I’ve been card making for about 4 years now. For me, card making is about creating for fun and having a creative outlet. I work a 9-5 job and came home exhausted. Now, I look forward to coming home to do something as simple as color. When I'm creating, I forget about my worries. One of my favorite things to do is surprising my friends and family with cards. In the age of technology, I personally love getting snail mail and I think everyone enjoys getting snail mail instead of an impersonal text message or even an e-card.

Hi crafty friends! My name is Jeannie (InsideoutJeans) and I’m so excited to be guest designing for Wow! Embossing Powder for this month. I'll be sharing a variety of different cards using embossing powders in different ways to create cards so I hope you enjoy them. For my first post, I'm sharing three cards that are created strictly with just embossing powders.

I wanted to play with darker cardstock mixed with embossing powder. I pulled out three colors of cardstock: red, blue, and black. To pair the embossing powder, I chose Rose Glintz, Metallic Gold Rich Pale, and Metallic Silver.

I decided to use Pretty Pink Posh's Wild Rose stamp set for the three cards. These are large floral images that are perfect for the idea I had for these cards. Here are my pairings: Rose Glintz & black cardstock, Metallic Gold Rich Pale & blue cardstock, and Metallic Silver & red cardstock. I used all these images to stamp on the cardstock using the WOW! Clear Ultra Slow Drying Embossing Pad and heat embossed the images. I didn't have the coordinating dies but these were all easy to cut out.
For my main card panels, I trimmed them down so I could mat them on a card panel so the embossing powder peeks out on the edges. I just swiped the WOW! Clear Ultra Slow Drying Embossing Pad on the edges and heat embossed them.
I wanted to add some accents to the card panel and Simon Says Stamps' Brushstroke Messages has these two brushstroke lines, it was perfect. Before I add all the floral images to the card panel, I wanted to emboss the sentiment. Using the Opaque Bright White, I stamped out the sentiment and this color is SO bright that I love how it stands out on the dark cardstock.

I placed all the florals in the same position for all three cards and love how it all came together. I also have created a video to go along with it so please go ahead and check it out HERE

Thanks for stopping by today and I hope you get inspired to create. Come back again soon for more inspiration and ideas! Happy Crafting!
