"Loving Every Minute of It"

Doesn’t this quote from Judy Garland just make you sigh? *sigh*

I hope you all had a terrific week. I’m not even sure if Valentine’s Day is completely global, but what a fantastic excuse to wear red, steal a kiss, indulge in champagne and chocolate-covered strawberries, stop and smell the overly priced roses, and remember the moment (or moments) you fell in love.

The 7 Girls and a Smoking Gun design team at WOW! Embossing Powders shared so much passion this week in their love of crafting, that we were bursting with projects! Playing with Embossing Powders, Pretty Papers, Our handy-dandy heat guns, Stamps...We were loving every minute of it!

Each lovely lady posted a sneak peek of a sweet little project created with V-Day in mind and if you followed the links to their blogs you found tutorials, inspirations and smiles. (I have the blogs posted again at the end.)

And then, like the calories that come with a box of chocolates, there was more to be enjoyed! I just had to share them all with you!

I wanted each designer to celebrate V-Day in a non-traditional, but still “loving” way and this is what they shared…

Erika Taylor…

"Laughter is the one thing I love the most. It can change around a dreary day in 5 seconds flat. So what better way to preserve those memories of laughter than with some Bright Cheer Wow Embossing Powders."

For this layout, Erika used, from the Suzy West Collections, Cable Car Red, California Sunshine, Whirly Pop, Presidio Purple, and Tea Garden Green on the chipboard letters and the Basically Bare canvas banners. She stamped both with the beautiful Flower Background Stamp. Erika also created the patterned papers behind the photos with the same embossing powders and stamp.

Superb! I love how bold the colors are...just like laughter should be bold!

Irit Shalom…

Who wouldn't think about "Hugs & Kisses" or "XOXOXOX" on Valentine's Day?

Irit created an altered 8x8in Tic-Tac- Toe board, made with Tando Creative chipboard (the base and all x- heart shapes) and with Suzy West Cable Red powder over the hearts and Wow Clear Glossy Regular powder over the crackled white paint. She used Simple Stories patterned paper and stamped over the ribs with Call Me stamp (stamp with script). Suzy West Sierra Sunshine was added all over the edges.

My second project is an altered 8x8in Tic-Tac-Toe board, made with Tando Creative chipboard (the base and all x- heart shapes) and with Suzy West Cable Red powder over the hearts and Wow Clear Glossy Regular powder over the crackled white paint.

She used Simple Stories' patterned paper and stamped over the ribs with Call Me stamp (stamp with script). Suzy West Sierra Sunshine was added all over the edges.

Anne Brown

Birthdays happen all year round and every season. I love how Anne used “V-day Colors” for  fantastic birthday cards.  The images are digi stamps by Krista Smith.  The Wow! Embossing powders used were Cable Car Red, Earthtone Grape, Metallic Gold Rich Ultra High, Metallic Gold Rich Pale Regular and Clear Gloss Regular. The colors are so amazing!!!

Jen Deal…

“I never cease to be amazed at the different journeys other couples take together in love. My Uncle Erning and Auntie Cora celebrated their 50thAnniversary, and it was one of the most beautiful celebrations I was blessed to share. FIFTY YEARS together!!”

In honor of their 50th Anniversary, I made a cake!! This time, it was out of paper, so it could last, just like their relationship.

I cut 6 strips each of varying lengths to create the “layers”. Using Wow’s Brocade Stamp Set and Versamark Ink, each layer was stamped and then embossed with Gold Rich Ultra High (top layer), Silver (middle layer) and Gold Rich Pale (bottom Layer) from the WOW! Embossing Powders line.

The layers were creased and stuck on an accordion style centerpiece and embellished with butterflies, sheer silver ribbon and flowers. I used my Cricut and the “All Mixed Up” to cut  out “Happy Anniversary”. I embossed the die cut letters with Silver.

I feel like I should hang up a Welcome banner for our newest design team member, Julia. But instead…let’s show off her completely adorable “Be Mine” Valentine’s Day banner. I love her use of “non-traditional” colors.

For this masterpiece, Julia used WOW! Embossing Powders: Metallic Silver Ultra High, Whirly Pop,Cable Car Red,Bright White,Clear Ultra High

Sherrie Suttles….
