VIDEO: Vertical Garden with Erica

Hi guys!

It's Erica back on the blog today, with another video and cards with this month's theme of Nature. I have used the Changers again, because I got hooked on them as soon as I tried them! Talk about magic!

I started out with some new to me inks, the Electro Pops from Rina K, and rubbed some on a sheet of acetate. Then I grabbed a few pieces of white card stock and dabbed them on the inks. The colour wasn't sticking too good so I spritzed some water on them to activate, and then dabbed some more. I kept doing this until I had a really nice patterned paper.

When this was dry, I cut out lots of leaves using a die-namic from MFT Stamps. These I then dabbed with the Embossing Pad, and sprinkled with my already mixed Glisten/Clear Gloss mixture. Thanks to my little heat embossing hack, using a pair of pointy tweezers and my little cork board, and pinned down each one while melting the powder.

To create the cards, I also cut out two panels using the Wonky Chevron Cover Plate from Neat & Tangled. One in white and one in black card stock. After separating the pieces I puzzled them back together but mixed up, if that makes sense. I kept the pieces in one place by using the old Press'n'Seal trick, and adhered tape runner to these along the edges only, before adding these to white card bases.

After my usual fiff-faffing with the card layout, I adhered all the leaves with some liquid glue. Only where they went into the cover plate pieces though, I wanted the tops of them to stick out and look alive. Like a vertical garden, sort of.

I finished them off with some already put together thank you diecut pieces. Thank you cards are coming in so handy these days!

That's it from me for today but don't forget to check out the video over on the YouTube channel as well.

Thanks for stopping by and I hope you found some inspiration here today!

Lots of love and happy crafting from Erica

  1. A very strong look with the pretty green foliage and large gold and black and white sentiments over the black and white backgrounds. Beautiful cards Erica. x
