Bring on the rainbows! Amber, here with a video tutorial on how to create rainbow embossing cards with a stencil and the WOW! Embossing Pen.

Pictures do not do these gorgeous powders justice so be sure to watch the video! Watch here or in HD on YouTube.

A Rainbow of WOW! Embossing Powders

Half of my powders are translucent with a high gloss finish and the other half are opaque with a metalline finish. Metalline powders have a lustre finish and are true color shifters. After heat embossing, they appear to be the color as shown in the jar, but from an angle, they have a gold lustre finish. Gorgeous!!

Rainbow Spring Gnome

I created 2 rainbow panels in order to create 3 cards. First up I had to use the new Simon Says Stamp Spring Gnome Stamp & Die Bundle. Too stinkin' cute and perfect for rainbow coloring.

First, I used the WOW! Embossing Pen to "color" through the Altenew Molded Lines Stencil. I embossed one ray at a time and fit the stencil back over the previously embossed ray. This was time-consuming and cumbersome, definitely not the best technique.

After the first panel, I wised up and traced the rainbows onto my card panel with a pencil and colored the rays free-hand without the stencil. Much easier with a cleaner result!!

Look at the orange ray, can you see the color shift to gold at the far end? So cool!! The Metalline powders remind me of duo-chrome eye shadows. Love! I die-cut both rainbow panels with a rounded rectangle die.

Next, I colored the little gnomie with Copics and added a sentiment from Simon Says Stamp Just Because Word Mix 2 Stamp & Die Bundle. The large die-cut heart is from Ellen Hutson Folk Hearts Die Set, the middle one comes with the Spring Gnome stamp set, and the heart on the top is from random confetti die.

Rainbow Folk Hearts

Do you love a twofer? Ellen Hutson Folk Hearts Dies did the trick to cut a heart from the rainbow panel and a piece of orange sticky back fun foam.

Color-coordinated sticky back fun foam adds an extra pop of color. I created the black heart in the center by off-setting two of the Folk Hearts dies on black 110lb cardstock.

Above you can see the high-gloss finish of the translucent powders and the gold shift of the green and orange metalline embossing powders.

The sentiments for all three cards are from the Simon Says Stamp Just Because Word Mix 2 Stamp & Die Set. Just Because is popped up and sub sentiment adhered directly to the card.

I love the high contrast of black cardstock and ink and tend to design with large areas of black often, it adds a crisp feel and makes colors pop off the page.

I popped up the rainbow heart on the same orange sticky back fun foam and added a couple of sentiments.

That's a wrap, guys! Let me know what you think in the comments down below. Thanks for stopping by and I'll see you soon with more inspiration!
