Giveaway of Flights of Fancy and Big Words

Today I have a special post for you. I get to do an introduction of the two stamp sets I designed for WOW! I will share a card and a video where I talk a bit more about the sets and I hope you'll love them as much as I do. AND there is also a giveaway! WOW will give away one each of the two new sets Flights of Fancy and Big Words to two of our readers. All you have to do to have a chance to win is to comment on this post and tell us which one of the sets are your favourite and why. Good luck!

Let me tell you about my card first and then I'll get back to the stamps. It's a really easy card to make. I diecut the background out of smooth white cardstock. I wet a part of the paper and added distress inks so they blended. Dried it really carefully with my heat tool. It's important to let it dry completely because the embossing powder will stick to anything moist. I stamped the High Five and embossed with Calypso Glitter. Then I stamped the feather from Flight of Fancy (or it could be a leaf, you decide) and embossed it in my favourite Clear Matt Dull embossingpowder. It looks very cool and faint but gives a lot of fun texture. And that's it.

I made a video to show you the sets and tell you a bit about them. But you can get the short version here. The Flights of Fancy set is a very fun and versatile set. They can be leaves or they can be feathers, no one knows for sure what they are. They can even be little trees if you feel like it. I love graphical stamps that can be used as is or colored or embossed or whatever you feel like that day. They work great with the powders from WOW of course, they practically scream to be embossed (and watercolored. Or foiled. They look fab foiled).

I made the Big Words to use as sentiments on cards. But they would look very good on layouts and in mixed media projects, art journaling and for other projects too. They are what they are called, big words, for many occasions. They can be combined with eachother and with other sentiments. I included an exclamation mark (that can be the i in I love you if turned upside down) and also an ampersand and some small dots to continue the sentiment on the inside of a card or in another place on the page or card. They are very fun and look amazing embossed and foiled. And here's the video where I talk about them, enjoy!

And here's a collage of the cards I showed in the video.

  4. Two fabulous stamp sets I love them both ! At first I thought the big words was my favorite set, then watched the videos and checked the samples again and decided that actually I like the flights of fancy set just slightly more, so that is my favorite set. I would love to see this set used with some of the WOW embossing powders, both white as a resist against darker inks/paints on background and with the vibrant EP colours.

  9. Comment : Difficult to decide a favourite between a sentiment set and an image set but I tried... My first impulse would be the Flight of fancy but actually the wise choice is the Big Words. I may have several Thank you stamps but I have none saying Be(you)tiful or even Smile. These original words, in big sizes, can make the focal point of a card as well as adding a sentiment to another image, making them more versatile.
PS: Adore your green Smile card!

  10. I CAN'T CHOOSE!!! lol.... I love leaves and I love feathers, so the Flights of Fancy really appeals to me. I adore emboss resist, and these would look just fabulous done up that way.
I LOVE the Big Words, too. I don't have anything in my stash like that set and I know I would get a lot of use out of it.....but I can't quite tear myself away from the Flights of Fancy. I just can't choose between these two awesome sets!!!! I would be delighted to win either of them!!!!

  15. ADORE them both! Absolutely love that wonderful & friendly typeface and I never met a feather I didn't like . . . these will be terrific to color. Super nice job, whoever you are (how come so many bloggers never identify themselves?)

  16. both sets are fantastic, with a slight preference for the Big word one as I could you use it on scrapbooking layouts and cards and I usually miss stamps with sentiments. I love the font and the creative way the letters are displayed for each word

  23. I think the Big Words would be a fun set to have. I don't have any sets with larger words - really don't have even small words, not sure why.
As you said - these would work well in journaling projects as well as greeting cards.
thanks for the chance to win one.

  27. Love the technique you used and love those stamp sets! If I could only afford to pick one it would be the words because they will go with so many styles of cards or other projects: they will be used the whole year round too. Thanks for sharing and for the chance Karen

Life's A Beach

Good morning crafty friends, I hope you're all well and getting very creative this month!
As this month's challenge is summer and I live on an island it seemed only natural that my inspiration card would feature sea and sand.
To create my beach scene I started off with a piece of pale blue card and a rubbed a Clear Ultra Slow Drying Embossing Pad across the top several times. I then sprinkled WOW Peppermint Tea Powder and Under The Sea Glitter over the top, tapped off the excess and melted with a heat tool. I created the sand underneath using Gold Pearl Powder.

For the sea I ran a line of PVA glue in the middle of the sky and sand with my finger, sprinkled with Under The Sea Glitter and melted with a heat tool. For the waves I added small areas of PVA straight from the nib of the bottle when added Opaque White Powder.

The birds and sentiment I have used Opaque British Summer Powder which is one of my favourite new powders, great colour and great name!
Finally, I added beach in…

Handy Stamp Storage Idea

Hello everyone... Happy Tuesday! :D

It's Sarah here with today's blog post created for our Monochromatic theme.

I don't know about you, but I always find I need to use stamps from a mixture of stamp sets and I thought it would be easier if I didn't have to slide each stamp set in and out of the packets all of the time.

I have a bunch of empty CD cases that I had almost thrown out but thankfully I hadn't as they turned out to be the perfect solution! The part that holds the CD easily popped out so I could then position my different stamp sets within them.

I found an old wooden CD box but it had no lid and as all clear acrylic stamps are best stored out of the light, I decided I would make a box lid for it... not just a plain lid though... a Wow Embossed box lid!

Here are brief instructions on how to make it:

STEP ONE

Using pearl silver card, I created a square to the size that I needed (145mm) and added 30mm wide rectangles around the square adding in some t…
