Garden Magic

Hello and welcome back to WOW Embossing Powders.  This months challenge is GARDEN!  I wish I could say I had a stunning garden full of veggies and stunning flowers but I don't. Graphic 45 have some stunning papers and one of my favourite ranges is secrete garden which I thought would perfectly for this months project.

I have used the new 6 by 4 canvas and made a wee garden scene.  I stated by covering the whole canvas with a background paper and added layers.

I embossed the entire edge with Opaque Vanilla White  regular and inked over top with vintage photo distress ink.  To bring the vanilla white back to the top I wiped over the embossed area and removed the ink that was lying on top which left only ink in the paper areas.

I cut my images out of paper and then turned them all over and embossed the backs of them.  I did this to stiffen up my images that I am going to be layering.  I used the same vanilla white knowing that some of the embossing powder will sneak around and show on the image which adds to the distress look.

I then used my WOW Embossing Pen and high lighted some areas on the images.
Like the hair ribbons on the young girl.  wings on the birds, leaves  and flower centres

After I added all my highlights I built my canvas using foam dots.
I added a few wee flowers for a bit more dimension.

I love how this turned out and plan on making more.  Hope you have enjoyed my project and I look forward to seeing what you create for this months challenge.

Life's A Beach

Good morning crafty friends, I hope you're all well and getting very creative this month!
As this month's challenge is summer and I live on an island it seemed only natural that my inspiration card would feature sea and sand.
To create my beach scene I started off with a piece of pale blue card and a rubbed a Clear Ultra Slow Drying Embossing Pad across the top several times. I then sprinkled WOW Peppermint Tea Powder and Under The Sea Glitter over the top, tapped off the excess and melted with a heat tool. I created the sand underneath using Gold Pearl Powder.

For the sea I ran a line of PVA glue in the middle of the sky and sand with my finger, sprinkled with Under The Sea Glitter and melted with a heat tool. For the waves I added small areas of PVA straight from the nib of the bottle when added Opaque White Powder.

The birds and sentiment I have used Opaque British Summer Powder which is one of my favourite new powders, great colour and great name!
Finally, I added beach in…

Handy Stamp Storage Idea

Hello everyone... Happy Tuesday! :D

It's Sarah here with today's blog post created for our Monochromatic theme.

I don't know about you, but I always find I need to use stamps from a mixture of stamp sets and I thought it would be easier if I didn't have to slide each stamp set in and out of the packets all of the time.

I have a bunch of empty CD cases that I had almost thrown out but thankfully I hadn't as they turned out to be the perfect solution! The part that holds the CD easily popped out so I could then position my different stamp sets within them.

I found an old wooden CD box but it had no lid and as all clear acrylic stamps are best stored out of the light, I decided I would make a box lid for it... not just a plain lid though... a Wow Embossed box lid!

Here are brief instructions on how to make it:

STEP ONE

Using pearl silver card, I created a square to the size that I needed (145mm) and added 30mm wide rectangles around the square adding in some t…

IT WASN'T EASY…...

But we did it…..

We managed to choose two fabulously talented ladies out of all the entries we received in our recent Design Team Call and oh boy did we get some entries…. THANK YOU SO MUCH !!!!

It was so hard choosing, there's some seriously creative people out there !!!!

So… who are they ? I hear you ask !!

Drum Roll Please ………..

In no particular order, well, it's alphabetical really, that seemed the fairest way :) :)

We have the FABULOUS Jo Herbert, Jo is sharing her creativity all the way from Australia.

And the very CREATIVE Riikka Kovasin, Riikka is sharing her creativity from Finland.

They both have a fabulous style, we wouldn't have chosen them otherwise ;) ;) and we're sure you're going to be inspired by them as you are with our other fabulous DT Girlies… #wehavethebestdesignteam
