Summer Flowers

Hello all you wonderful follower's,  Donna here from New Zealand.  I love being on international teams, sometimes the briefs we are set are complete opposite to what we are going threw.  Like this months brief was Summer, giggle, its mid winter here :-)  so it was lovely to break out delish colours of summer.  colours I am looking forward to seeing again real soon.

DID YOU KNOW THAT WOW EMBOSSING POWDERS SELL OTHER PRODUCTS APART FROM EMBOSSING POWDERS.........

THEY DO!

And I really love them.  Today I am going to show you what I did with their stunning

Wow Resist Paper - Multi Pack 2 x 3 Designs (6" x 6" each)

Each pack of Resist Paper consists two sheets of 3 different designs each! Use Resist Paper to create card bases, die cut shapes, mixed media projects , scrapbook layouts and much much more!

.................................................................................

Today you are you....

Who loves flowers, stunning, pretty, brightly coloured to brighten up you day.  (I do)  I made this project for the two oldest girls at home who are about to move into a room together with out the wee ones.  I thought I would give the room a coat of paint and make a few projects for the wall.   This is the first one.   I LOVE this saying by Dr Seuss..."Today you are you, that is truer than true, there is no one alive who is youer than you"

To start this project I cut out LOTS of flower shapes using dies and the cricut.  Then spent  hours shaping, gluing and colouring them all in,  adding brads, pearls and embossing powders to give it that sparkle.  What I really love about these flowers is how the WOW resist paper is thick and can take a bit of water and spray without losing the shape.  I LOVE the way the resist paper has taken the sprays and inks and given these flowers stunning texture.

A close up of the flowers and the detail of the resist paper

This close up shows the light sprinkle of embossing powder.  I love that WOW has so much choice in colours,  it would be very hard not to find a colour to complement your project.  For this project I used Easter sparkle which is a lovely yellow and St. Lucia Surf from the Special edition, Caribbean Jewels ( which is my fave of all fave in wow embossing powder, so pretty)

With the scraps from my flowers I could not waist it,  I made some of my leaves and coloured them with distress stains, perfect pearl mists and distress ink.  YUMMO!

I finished my project off with a splash of bling from flourish with a bling and made some birds with Creative paper clay, I used a mould and added the paper clay,  once dried I coloured it with distress ink and then to seal them and to give them a little gloss I embossed with super gloss embossing powder. It's it cool.  I am going to be making more of these for sure.

Well I hope you enjoyed my share for the day,  I would LOVE to hear what you think, so please do leave a comment, we do read them and really appreciate your feed back.  I love the end result and am looking forward to hanging it up on the girls wall. The only down thing is I used all my resist paper :-(  I need more.
Till next time, take care and happy scrappin  xox Donna
