Heat Embossing a Dry Embossed Background

Hello friends!  It is Natasha here and I am excited to be back up on the blog today!  Today I wanted to share a simple way to heat emboss a dry embossed background, as well as heat embossing on ephemera.  So let's get started!

I started today's card by creating a colorful background on a dry embossed watercolor cardstock panel.  I applied Lindy's Magicals to my panel to add color and texture to my background.  I used 3 different colors.  Once the panel was dry, I trimmed the panel down using my paper trimmer.  Next I used a mini brayer to apply embossing ink to my panel.  I added the ink in various sections, then applied embossing powder.  I used 2 different colors, I used: Mud Pie and Midnight.  I heat set one color at a time.

Next I distressed the edges of my panel with my distress tool and then applied ink to the edges to add more of a rustic feel. I then adhered the panel to an A2 card base.  Next I started to work with my floral die cut and the ephemera.  I distressed the ephemera in the same way as I shared above (card panel).  I then added embossing ink and Karin's Dream embossing powder to my butterfly.

To complete my card I adhered the floral die cut and ephemera with liquid glue and foam tape.  I had a lot of fun today!  I hope you enjoyed today's card I am excited to see how you use your embossing folders with powders!

Have a great day!  Crafty Hugs!

  1. This is beautiful Natasha and using the brayer to apply the embossing ink to the raised areas, and the darker coloured EP really makes it stand out..love the distressed edges too, and finished so prettily with the added embellishments with more distressing and super gold EP on the butterfly. x

  2. Great information. Create a visually interesting marketing product with Print Raised Foil Postcards from PrintMagic. These postcards printing online come with a raised effect that also creates an impressive tactile experience and along with the addition of foil elements that also make it look metallic and very shiny! Highlight your message, design, logo, or promotional more information and to get your client’s attention to what’s important.
