Hello Crafty Friends!!
I've got a couple different ways to show how you can add these Powders to your Projects using your Stencils and Layering Stencils!! Whether it be using them for the Entire Design or if its just for a hint of Sparkle here and there, you're going to LOVE finding NEW ways to use your WoW Embossing Glitter Powders!!
I wanted to show how you can create the SAME Designs using both Light and Dark Patterned Papers!! Sometimes I think we get in the mind set that we can only Stencil on a Plain Cardstock, but what about switching it up and Stenciling on those Patterned Papers that we LOVE and if you're like me HOARD!! 😜
I'm starting with a Black Patterned Paper, but any Black Patterned Paper would work here!! I applied Therm O Web Pixie Spray to the back of my Simon Says Stamp Winter Floral Layering Stencil and adhered the #1 Stencil onto my Patterned Paper!! Then I used my Ink Blending Brush and applied some SSS White Pigment Ink over the Image and heat set it using my WoW Dual Speed Embossing Tool!! Once Heat Set I replaced the Stencil lining up the Design and applied the Vintage Distress Oxide Ink over the White Pigment Ink to help make it POP against the Black Patterned Paper!! Then I applied some of the Metallic Gold Sparkle Embossing Glitter to just a Part of the Image!! I wanted some of the Inking to show through for a Layered look!! Then I heat set the Embossing Powder and I LOVE the look!! SQUEAL!! The addition of the Sparkle and Texture just really makes the Images come to life!!
I repeated the exact some process onto a White Patterned Paper wanting to show that it can be FUN to try different Papers for our Stenciling!! In my opinion the added patterns really gives the Stenciled Images some Personality!!
Next I placed the #2 Stencil again after applying some Pixie Spray to the back of the Stencil and adhering it over the top of the Patterned Paper lining it up with the previously Inked and Embossed Images!! I used some Abandoned Coral Distress Oxide Ink and applied it with a Blending Brush over the Patterned Paper!!
I repeated the exact same Process onto the Black Patterned Paper and here's a look at what they both look like after I have Inked up the Poinsettia's using the Abandoned Coral Distress Oxide Ink!!
After washing off the Stencil and Drying it well, I reapplied it over the Poinsettia's that I inked with Abandoned Coral!! Then I took my Blending Brush and Applied some Candied Apple Distress Oxide Ink just to the very center Flower!! It's okay if you go a little outside the edges of the center Flower here, we just want to add some Dimension and have a place to apply the WoW Red Glitz Embossing Glitter!! If any powder got where I didn't want it, I just removed it with a Stiff Paint Brush!! Then I heat Set it!! Again I repeated the same Process on BOTH patterned Papers!!
Next I adhered Stencil #3 to the Patterned Paper again after I sprayed the back side of it with Pixie Spray and I lined it up with the Previously Inked Images!! Then I applied some Shabby Shutters Distress Oxide Ink using my Blending Brush!! I only applied it to the single Leaves so I could add another color to the other Leaves later, but you could skip this step and Ink them all the same color if you wanted too!!
Then I applied some Lucky Clover Distress Oxide Ink just the the edges of the Leaves for some Shading and to give us a place to add the WoW Dixon Green Embossing Glitter!! So once all of the Inking was finished I removed the Stencil and applied the WoW Dixon Green Embossing Glitter Powder the the recently Inked leaves!! Then I heat set the Powder!!
Here's what BOTH of the Designs look like after finishing this Step!! I REALLY like the Dimension and 2 toned colors of the Leaves and feel like it adds alot of BEAUTY to the Design!!
Next I reapplied the Stencil again after washing it and drying it completely over the Patterned Paper lining up the Leaf Images!! Then I applied some Speckled Egg Distress Oxide Ink to the other Leaves!! I really like the addition of the cooler Blue Green and feel it helps to balance out the Design!! PLUS, it gives me another reason to use another WoW Embossing Glitter Powder Color!! SQUEAL!!
Next I applied some Iced Spruce Distress Oxide Ink just to the Base of the Leaf Images and then I applied some of the NEW WoW Mint Chip Embossing Glitter Powder!! This Color combo is a Match made in HEAVEN!! I LOVE it and can't wait to use it for more of my Winter Card Design!! Then I heat Set it and the results are just STUNNING!! All of this Sparkle just makes me HAPPY!!
For the final Step I applied Stencil #4 again after applying Pixie Spray to the back of the Stencil and I lined it up over the Inked Images!! Then I applied some Mustard Seed Distress Oxide Ink and added the NEW WoW Picnic Table Embossing Glitter Powder over the top to finish off the Stenciled Design!!
I Die Cut the Panel down and adhered it to a NND Scalloped Rectangle Die Cut from some TE Spearmint Cardstock and then I added a Stamped and Embossed Sentiment!! I Die Cut the Small Stitched Circle and and Embossed the Sentiment with WoW Clear Gloss Embossing Powder from the NND Holiday Fringe Stamp Set!!
Here's a close up of all of the Sparkle!! I really like this technique of Stenciling and adding Highlights with the WoW Embossing Glitter Powders for both texture and sparkle!!!!
I added some PPP Yellow Jewels to the center of the Poinsettia's to finish them off and I really like the added touch of the Jewels as it really makes them the Focal Point of the Card!! I paired it with a SSS Red Shimmer Envelope as it compliments all the SPARKLE on the Card!! PERFECT for sending some Holiday Cheer this Holiday Season!!

Wow, what a lot of inspiration here Larissa and interesting looks of stencilling on both light and dark patterned backgrounds which work equally well to give a brighter more busy look or a softer lighter look, but equally pretty. Thank you for all the beautiful samples which must have taken you a while to put together but very worthwhile. x
ReplyDeleteCertainly is WoW!!! Love this technique and your designs.
