Purple Hearts by Jaine

The decorations have been put away, the box of Christmas crafting bits has been closed but there will always be a time for gold or glitter and with Valentine's Day soon to be the next crafting event on the horizon, we'll be turning our attention to all things lovey dovey!

Of course that doesn't automatically mean pink or red, and if you're anything like me you'll want to create something a little alternative, maybe mixing up a few new colour schemes perhaps?

I love to blend colours especially as some of them have amazing colour variations. A few colours which I've only recently discovered are Midnight Dream, Persian Indigo and Royal Crush. These absolutely gorgeous Embossing Glitters are stunning on their own but when used together they produce a richness of colour which I just had to create with.

My background is simply a blend of Distress Oxide inks, left on my craft mat and watercolour paper dipped onto. The three hearts were stamped together with the three Embossing Glitters poured over one at a time starting with Midnight Dream at the top, Persian Indigo next then Royal Crush at the bottom. Before heating, I added a few dots of ink with the Reinker Tool and threw over some Metallic Gold. The letters and die cut 'Lovely' were embossed in gold as an accent to the purple hearts.

I'm looking forward to experimenting further with other colours and mixing things up a bit.
