Autumn Pearls

Today I am moving on from summer to share a very autumnal looking card. I love the rich warm tones of autumn and the WOW Chocolate Caramel Pearl embossing powder is perfect for the season.

I began with the background. I stamped the Hello Bluebird Petal Play cling rubber background stamp with WOW embossing ink onto a piece of white card. I then embossed the pattern with Chocolate Caramel Pearl embossing powder. The colour of this powder changes when embossed on different colour backgrounds so it’s fun to experiment and see what you get.

I trimmed the panel down to fit the width of a card base but shorter so there’s a space at the bottom, then adhered to my card base. I cut a thin strip of glitter card from the Lawn Fawn Autumn Sparkle card pack, and adhered to my card too.

Next, I die cut two white tags from the Hello Bluebird Stitched Tag Builder die set, cutting an additional rectangle window in one tag, before layering over the other.  I adhered the layered tag to my card, then stamped a sentiment from the Hello Bluebird Fall Friends stamp set.

Finally, I stamped out some images from the Hello Bluebird Fall Friends stamp set, coloured them with copics, then die cut them with the coordinating dies. I adhered them to my card with a mix of foam tape and liquid adhesive.

Have a lovely day,

  1. This is a delicious background using this chocolate caramel pearl embossing powder and love that sweet little rabbit and sentiment over the top also the Autumnal feel with the pumpkins. A great card Gemma. x

Handy Stamp Storage Idea

Hello everyone... Happy Tuesday! :D

It's Sarah here with today's blog post created for our Monochromatic theme.

I don't know about you, but I always find I need to use stamps from a mixture of stamp sets and I thought it would be easier if I didn't have to slide each stamp set in and out of the packets all of the time.

I have a bunch of empty CD cases that I had almost thrown out but thankfully I hadn't as they turned out to be the perfect solution! The part that holds the CD easily popped out so I could then position my different stamp sets within them.

I found an old wooden CD box but it had no lid and as all clear acrylic stamps are best stored out of the light, I decided I would make a box lid for it... not just a plain lid though... a Wow Embossed box lid!

Here are brief instructions on how to make it:

Using pearl silver card, I created a square to the size that I needed (145mm) and added 30mm wide rectangles around the square adding in some t…

Life's A Beach

Good morning crafty friends, I hope you're all well and getting very creative this month!
As this month's challenge is summer and I live on an island it seemed only natural that my inspiration card would feature sea and sand.
To create my beach scene I started off with a piece of pale blue card and a rubbed a Clear Ultra Slow Drying Embossing Pad across the top several times. I then sprinkled WOW Peppermint Tea Powder and Under The Sea Glitter over the top, tapped off the excess and melted with a heat tool. I created the sand underneath using Gold Pearl Powder.

For the sea I ran a line of PVA glue in the middle of the sky and sand with my finger, sprinkled with Under The Sea Glitter and melted with a heat tool. For the waves I added small areas of PVA straight from the nib of the bottle when added Opaque White Powder.

The birds and sentiment I have used Opaque British Summer Powder which is one of my favourite new powders, great colour and great name!
Finally, I added beach in…

Happy memories - embossed background

I must admit I was having a bit of a problem coming up with a memory keeping project for this months post. I have been making almost only cards lately and had a bit of a problem filling a whole layout. I do make some layouts and lately I've been partial to letter sized layouts because the format remind me of cards and makes it easier for me to plan the page. This time I made a A4 sized layout because it's easier for me to find the page protectors in regular stores here. I used some good cardstock that doesn't warp much when you heat it or add water since i knew I would emboss it.
Here's what I did. I picked the pretty Chrysanthemum background stamp and embossed it in Silver Pearl embossing powder three times in a row across the background. I must admit I was more than a little inspired by Isha Guptas cards for her guest post earlier this week. I used distress inks in Twisted Citron and Mermaid Lagoon and applied with an ink blending tool randomly over the embossed are…
