Speckled embossed background

Hello, it's Verity with my first video and blog post as a Creative team member for WOW, I'm just pinching myself that I get to be here! I love WOW! embossing powders and cannot wait to inspire you all.

My first video today shows you to create a lovely spring inspired Congratulations card with a speckled embossed background. Back in November 2018, I went to the craft show at the NEC in Birmingham and I got to see some of the lovely samples of the WOW! stand. One card stood out to me and the lovely Marion was more than happy to let me know how it was done. It was as though embossing powder and dusted the card, it was so fine that I couldn't figure it out how it was done.

Usually, you need some type of media for the powder to stick to - ink, water, embossing paste etc, but this pattern was too fine for a stamp. Marion told me, just sprinkle some powder onto your paper, and heat from beneath. And WOW! it works and gives such a lovely soft texture.

So, sit back with a cuppa and see how this card came together!

  1. Congratulations on joining the team Verity and love this soft and prettily coloured image and love the gorgeous blue on the wreath and sentiment, and the added sprinkled and heat set embossing powder looks perfect in the background. x
