Hi everyone, Debs here again, with a tag in gorgeous spring colours! The month of March is all about pastels, and I chose 'Inspiration' as my theme for this tag, as so much of my inspiration comes from nature, and I had a ball making this project!
Step 1
Cut a 20cm x 10cm tag and shape the top (I used a scalloped template). Use Spellbinders Petite Rose Border die to dry emboss the top edge of the tag. Use the same die to both cut and emboss the lower edge of the tag.
Step 2
Replace the die on the tag, and use it as a stencil to apply Tattered Rose and Bundled Sage Distress inks with a blending brush. Stamp the main body of the tag with Bundled Sage using the WOW! Flowers background stamp. Colour tint the edges of the tag with Bundled Sage. Punch a hole in the top of the tag and fix an eyelet to the hole, tie pink and green organza ribbon through the eyelet.
Step 3
Using the Spellbinders die set, cut and dry emboss both the heart and the button shapes, then stencil them using the same colours as before. Use the WOW! Embossing Pen to apply embossing ink to the rose heads and dots on each die cut shape, then heat emboss with Pastel Pink Embossing Powder Colour tint the edges of the die cuts with Bundled Sage. to match the main tag.
Step 4
Cut two rectangles, one 7.5 x 5cm, the other 6.5 x 4cm, and use a corner rounder punch on all corners. Colour the large rectangle with Tattered Rose ink. Stamp the smaller tag using Versamark and a script stamp (I used an old script stamp I have of the word 'Nature') then heat emboss using Clear Semi Dull Embossing Powder - this is great if you want to use the resist technique, but don't want a high gloss finish. Colour dust the tag with a combination of the Tattered Rose and Bundled Sage, mount on the larger pink tag, and mount both on the main shaped tag using foam for dimension.
Step 5
Die cut and emboss a small oval using the X Cut Large Ovals die, and colour with Tattered Rose and Bundled Sage. (give the panel a blast with your heat gun to make sure it's dry before you start heat embossing) Use versamark to stamp a short quote and heat emboss with Rich Gold Super Fine powder, then attach to the front of the tag using foam for dimension
Step 6
Die cut a Memory Box 'La Rue Flourish' from gold mirri card, and attach to the lower right corner of the tag, and fix the embossed Rose button in the centre. Fix the die cut Heart in the top right corner overlapping the text panel
Step 7
On white vellum, use Versamark to stamp 2 butterflies from the WOW! 'With Love' stamp set and heat emboss with Pastel Pink powder. Cut out both butterflies, and shape by rolling gently between your fingers. Fix one to the Rose button die cut, and 1 to the lower edge of the text panel as shown.
Step 8
Tear a strip of white vellum and use Versamark and the Alphabet/Months stamp set to stamp the word 'Inspire', then heat emboss with Green Pearl embossing powder. The pearls give a lovely soft iridescent finish which changes with the light - beautiful! Attach the strip of vellum at an angle across the front of the tag using brads.
Step 9
Finish the tag by attaching 3 silk roses to the top left corner using glue gel
I hope you have as much fun making this tag as I did!
