Inspiration Collaboration Hop with Crafty Meraki

Hey Crafty People!

It's Tasha here, and I'm sharing some inspiration combining some fabulous WOW products with some of the amazing line of products from Crafty Meraki!

A Touch Of Sparkle

1. Stamp the Fluttering Feathers Stamp in black ink onto an a2 panel of our Superior Smooth Cardstock. Set aside to dry.

2. Die cut 3 of the large 'BIRTHDAY' dies from WOW cardstock and glue them together to stack up that dimension.

3. Apply some double sided adhesive to another piece of WOW cardstock and die cut this, ***STICKY SIDE UP*** so that you don't end up with a backwards word! 😉

4. Peel back the top 1/3 of the release paper and add Kelp Earth Sparkles. Funnel back the extra glitter by pouring over a coffee filter or some scrap paper.

5. Peel back the next 1/3 and add Blue Devil Earth Sparkles. Finally, peel off the last portion and add Scampi Earth Sparkles.

6. Using the release paper to protect the die cut, burnish the glitter in well to ensure that your recipient won't end up covered in glitter! 😉

7. Glue this on top of the white die cuts, slightly offset to give a white drop shadow. Add this to the stamped panel with strong adhesive.

8. Trim down one of the Sweet Sentiments Fab Foilers to give you just the word 'happy' and then adhere this to on top of the glitter die cut.

Emboss Resist Capture

This technique involves creating a patterned background, then capturing this underneath some clear embossing.

1. Apply Tranquil CP ink to an a2 panel of WOW cardstock, direct to paper randomly to get a base colour for your background. Try touching different parts of the ink pad to the paper to give an interesting texture to the colour.

2. Selectively apply Sea Glass, Bay Breeze & Cove Blue CP inks direct to paper, just touching the edge of the ink pad to the paper. Allow this to dry to the touch.

3. Once this is dry to the touch, apply a heavier layer of Tranquil ink, direct to paper, to help bring all of these colours & textures together.

***You need to leave this to FULLY dry before you move onto the next step because the embossing powder will stick to anywhere on the panel that has any moisture left in it.*** (I left mine overnight!)

4. Apply WOW Ultra Slow Drying embossing ink through Crafty Meraki's Butterfly Garden Stencil with a detail blending brush, taking care that you have covered the entire panel.

5. Apply Clear embossing powder across the panel, and heat set it. This will trap that background pattern underneath in the shape of the Butterflies!

6. Apply a heavy layer of Spruce CP ink, direct to paper. You can go right over the embossing because it will resist the ink!

7. Use a dry cloth to wipe any ink off the embossed pattern to reveal that fabulous background!!! 

8. Fussy cut one of the sentiments from our Love & Hugs Fab Foilers and add Bright Gold Fab Foil using a Laminator to bond the foil to the toner printed words.

9. Apply Cove Blue CP ink, direct to paper and wipe the ink off the foiled words...Foil will resist that ink too!!! 🤯🤩

10. Trim down the background panel and mount onto Gold Mirror cardstock, popping up on the sentiment on foam tape.

11. Embellish with Gold Sequins.
