Mixing powders with Ashlee....!!

Hey everyone....

Ashlee here with you today and I have a card to share with you using a couple of powders that I mixed to create a fun effect!!

Our theme at WOW! embossing fans this month is "Pearls" so I thought it would be fun to see what the outcome would be if I mixed some Gold pearl super fine with White puff powder to create a brick background....

To do this effect I added equal parts of each embossing powder into an empty WOW! pot and mixed them together....

Using a brick stencil I taped it in place over a base of Neenah dessert storm cardstock and then using an ink tool I blended on some WOW! embossing ink, leaving patches of the stencil un-inked to make a bit of a distressed edging!!

Check out the close up of how the two powders made such a cool faux brick background...

The background worked well for the Outside your window and boxes of blooms images from Catherine Pooler, finished off with a sentiment from the thoughtful phrases stamp set!!

I hope you enjoy this new card and feel inspired to start mixing some of your WOW! powders, It's so much fun to experiment and see what happens!!

happy embossing everyone, Hugs Ashlee.

  1. A beautiful card and love the embossed brickwork and stamped woodgrain with the pretty hearts as a backdrop to the lovely box of flowers Ashlee. The mix of powders worked well for the brickwork too. x
