A Bit of Foiling and Changers with Karen Reategui

Hello! Today I’m over WOW! Embossing Powder Blog and I have created two cards. One using WOW! Fab Foils and the other with the new WOW! It changers - Lightening Effects Kit.

Let’s shine! For my first card I’m using WOW! Blush and Bright Gold Fab Foils. I’m loving this color combination! Also, I will be die cutting the Script Word Fabulous die from Altenew.

I grabbed 3 different double sided tape sizes and placed them down along half of an A2 white panel. Then, I removed the release paper from the tape and placed the WOW! Blush Fab Foil on top of my first strip. I burnished the foil down with my finger and lifted it up. Next, I removed the second strip, placed the WOW! Bright Gold Fab Foil on top, burnished it down with the finger or with a bone folder. I followed the same steps 4 more times.

For the sentiment, I used a Stick It adhesive sheet and adhered a piece to a white cardstock, then placed the fabulous script word on top and run this through my die cutting machine. I lifted up the release paper and placed the WOW! Blush Fab Foil on top of the fabulous die cut and again burnished it down with my fingers. Finally, I added the sentiment to my panel and a white card base at the back using glue.

For my second card, I’m die cutting the Script Word Thanks from Altenew and the WOW! It Changers. I added a bit of GLISTEN additive to the WOW! Metallic Brass Embossing Powder and TEXTURE to the WOW! Hydrangea Embossing Powder. It’s such a pity that the pictures doesn’t show the real look these thanks words have in real person.

First, I created this watercolor panel using Altenew Watercolor Brushes, then I added some splashes of purple watercolor and finally I sprayed shimmer on it and let the panel dry.

I die cut the thanks word die 3 times. Two of them were stamped with WOW! Embossing Pad and then heat embossed with the mix of Texture additive and WOW! Hydrangea Embossing Powder.

Then, the last thanks word was stamped with WOW! Embossing Pad and heat embossed with mixture of Glisten and WOW! Metallic Brass Embossing Powder.

As my watercolor panel wasn’t dry yet I speeded up the process using my heat tool from WOW! and then I adhered a white card base at the back and placed the die cuts on top. I love the look of this card and the feel of the thanks die cuts. That TEXTURE additive gives a very interesting feel when you touch it. I hope you give the changers a try. You will have lots of fun. Thanks for stopping by and have an amazing week!

Karen

  1. I love the blush and gold fab foil strips on the first and the matching blush foil sentiment looks great and then the the triple thanks with that very textural embossing against the watercoloured background is so bright and beautiful. Two amazing cards Karen. x

  2. Very pretty - I especially love the foiling. Do you know how many sheets of foil are in a package and what size the sheets are? Their website seems to feel this isn't important enough to list.
