Embossing glitter feature with Ashlee....!!

Hey everyone....
Ashlee here with you today and this month our theme here at WOW! is embossing glitter/glints so for my card I have featured a glitter embossing powder called Picnic basket with Angel eyes and Love is the drug embossing powders!!
To create this card I first started off with a white card base and using an MFT background stamp called Watercolour stripes I stamped over the whole base piece using a light grey ink...

I then stamped a sentiment using Memento tuxedo black ink from the Waffle flower stamp set Sweet sentiments that is included in the mailbox combo....
Next step was to cut out a mixture of sizes of the gorgeous envelopes from the Waffle flower mailbox die....

(This die set has a variety of envelope shapes/designs along with a super cool mailbox)

Once I cut out the amount of envelopes I wanted I selected what colour WOW! embossing powders I wanted to use and then started embossing with my WOW! dual heat gun!!
I like to emboss my die cuts by die cutting them first and then pushing them on the top of my WOW! embossing ink pad, covering in powder of choice and then embossing but you could do it by embossing a piece of cardstock first and then die cutting them from that....
I arranged the envelopes all over the card base and then mounted them into position with varying layers of foam tape for dimension....

To finish them off a touch of sequins for some bling!!

Here's a closer look at all the awesome WOW! products I used to create this card....
I hope you enjoy my WOW! embossing inspiration for today and dont forget to come on over to the Facebook fans group and share with us your creations using the monthly theme....

I know we would all love to see them and you would then be in with a chance at some shopping dollars at the WOW! embossing store and who doesn't love a little credit right??!!

Happy embossing everyone, Hugs Ashlee.

  1. what does it take to be a successful author ? I would say that initial reviews and marketing definitely boost your book. I used to get a few reviews and also promote my book. Hopping to be in the top 100 genre lists and see better sales this Christmas season…

  2. I love this clever card Ashlee and so bright and pretty. x

Handy Stamp Storage Idea

Hello everyone... Happy Tuesday! :D

It's Sarah here with today's blog post created for our Monochromatic theme.

I don't know about you, but I always find I need to use stamps from a mixture of stamp sets and I thought it would be easier if I didn't have to slide each stamp set in and out of the packets all of the time.

I have a bunch of empty CD cases that I had almost thrown out but thankfully I hadn't as they turned out to be the perfect solution! The part that holds the CD easily popped out so I could then position my different stamp sets within them.

I found an old wooden CD box but it had no lid and as all clear acrylic stamps are best stored out of the light, I decided I would make a box lid for it... not just a plain lid though... a Wow Embossed box lid!

Here are brief instructions on how to make it:

Using pearl silver card, I created a square to the size that I needed (145mm) and added 30mm wide rectangles around the square adding in some t…

Life's A Beach

Good morning crafty friends, I hope you're all well and getting very creative this month!
As this month's challenge is summer and I live on an island it seemed only natural that my inspiration card would feature sea and sand.
To create my beach scene I started off with a piece of pale blue card and a rubbed a Clear Ultra Slow Drying Embossing Pad across the top several times. I then sprinkled WOW Peppermint Tea Powder and Under The Sea Glitter over the top, tapped off the excess and melted with a heat tool. I created the sand underneath using Gold Pearl Powder.

For the sea I ran a line of PVA glue in the middle of the sky and sand with my finger, sprinkled with Under The Sea Glitter and melted with a heat tool. For the waves I added small areas of PVA straight from the nib of the bottle when added Opaque White Powder.

The birds and sentiment I have used Opaque British Summer Powder which is one of my favourite new powders, great colour and great name!
Finally, I added beach in…

Happy memories - embossed background

I must admit I was having a bit of a problem coming up with a memory keeping project for this months post. I have been making almost only cards lately and had a bit of a problem filling a whole layout. I do make some layouts and lately I've been partial to letter sized layouts because the format remind me of cards and makes it easier for me to plan the page. This time I made a A4 sized layout because it's easier for me to find the page protectors in regular stores here. I used some good cardstock that doesn't warp much when you heat it or add water since i knew I would emboss it.
Here's what I did. I picked the pretty Chrysanthemum background stamp and embossed it in Silver Pearl embossing powder three times in a row across the background. I must admit I was more than a little inspired by Isha Guptas cards for her guest post earlier this week. I used distress inks in Twisted Citron and Mermaid Lagoon and applied with an ink blending tool randomly over the embossed are…
