WOW! Embossing Powder <---- you are here!
Donna Mikasa
I was lucky enough to get a chance to play along and create a card with two of Altenew Stamps: Striped Florals and Beautiful Lady. Here's what I came up with:
I have been obsessed recently with watercolouring so I stamped and embossed the flowers from Striped Florals with WOW Ebony Regular (UK, US) and our brand spanking new WOW! Ultra Slow Drying Ink Pad (UK, US), watercoloured them and very carefully cut them out!
I then melted down some WOW! Melt It(UK, US) and Ebony Regular Embossing Powder and poured it into the WOW! Buttons Silicone Mould (UK, US). If you would like to learn how to make your own embellishments, visit our Youtube channel for a great tutorial! I had some leftover so I make little diamante droplets on my none stick craft mat to add as additional accents. I adhered the buttons to the flowers with dimensional glue (Pinflair) and set them aside to dry.
One of my favourite embossing powder techniques is to use it on sticky red tape. Sticky red tape is heat resistant, so it is perfect for heat embossing with. I attached my tape to my card in diagonal stripes, peeled off the release strip and sprinkled these Embossing Glitters: Pacific Wave (UK, US), Shocking Pink (UK, US) and Mermaid's Tails (UK, US) in little parts one at a time to get a multicoloured effect. I them heatset it when I was happy that all of the tape was covered. Here is a close up of the heat embossing in all its delicious textured glory:
I then attached the card to a grey cardstock card blank. Then I stamped and cut out my sentiment and attached that to the card with dimensional foam squares. I then attached my flowers (after a lot of deliberation) and added my DIY diamante droplets.
I hope you enjoyed my card :) Thank you for stopping by! Your next stop is Yana Smakula who I am sure has created an amazing project!
Take care and happy hopping,
Tania x
