Happy Holidays

I love embossing diecuts, it makes them look so different from just cutting them out of paper. I diecut this wreath out of regular cardstock and made sure to save all the inside bits. After embossing the wreath I puzzled all of the inside pieces back in place and it is a cool effect. I embossed the sentiment in white and used an ink blending tool with Distress ink to add color to make the text show up.

The embossing powder is Mistletoe Magic, one of the new powders that are so glittery and pretty with a green tone. Perfect for my wreath. I also added some stars and splattered a bit of gold paint as embellishments.

Supplies:
Let It Snow (by Marion Emberson) - Clear Stamp Set
Mistletoe Magic Embossing powder
Opaque Bright White Embossing powder

  1. The inlaid die-cut gives a beautiful effect, I have to admire your patience with the fiddly bits...

  2. Maya how did you get embossing or pigment ink onto the leaves? I love this and would love to know how you created it. Also I greatly admire your patience for putting all of those pieces back it must be like a jig saw which is something I really loathe lol! Karen x

    1. Thank you Karen! I diecut the wreath and held on to the inside pieces. Then I just smooched the wreath into the embossing inkpad and covered it with the powder and heated it until it melted. It did take a while to piece the inside parts back in because I hadn't planned ahead. You can put a folded dryer sheet under the paper when diecutting and the pieces stays in place until you remove them and it makes it easier. Or add some low tack tape under the diecut after diecutting but before popping the paper out of the die, to make the the pieces stick in place. Good luck!
