WOW! Embossing Powder and UmWow Blog Hop: DAY 1 COMMENTS CLOSED

Welcome to Day 1 of our blog hop with UmWow Studio!  UmWowStudio is a family owned business out of Las Vegas, NV. They specialise in laser cut chipboard embellishments and masks for the paper crafting and mixed media community. And boy has our Design Team been having fun with their goodies! Today we have Sue O'Connell and Jenifer Cowles on the blog with their projects using WOW! and UmWow products:

Jenifer Cowles:
Welcome to the Wow and UmWow hop.  Can I just tell you these are about 2 of my most favorite products.  I just love the little Um Wow Butterflies.  I wrapped a little piece of wire around the middle and they look like they are flying around the flowers on the tag.

The tag started around one of the new Wow Embossing powder colors, Chocolate Caramel Pearl, and let me tell you it is lovely.

Here is a close up of my cluster.  I have some flowers, DCWV  and old book papers, and also some May Arts ribbons.
I hope you have enjoyed the hop today make sure you stop by everyday to be inspired by this awesome team.

Hi Everyone

At WOW HQ this month we have been given the opportunity to work with some
fantastic stencils and chipboard embellishments from umwowstudio.  I couldn't wait to get hold of my stash of tags, cogs, butterfly stencil and hexagon stencil.
This also coincides with a great blog hop, so follow the trail of blogs for a chance to win some goodies this month.

I started with a plain canvas purchased from the Pound shop.  I then covered this with white gesso.  I then sprayed this with browns, gold and green inks and let it dry, but not before tipping the canvas up to allow the ink to run down the canvas.

I then got my distress inks out and used them to sponge through the butterfly and hexagon stencils with brown, green and red distress inks.

I then used the same technique for the chipboard shapes.  I firstly inked up the shapes with Versamark and sprinkled WOW clear Ultra High embossing powder over them and heat set. I then inked them up again with Versamark and added different embossing powders and  heat set. On the cogs I used, Ebony, Pepper, Bark, Gold Rich and Verdigris.  On the butterfly I used the same but in smaller amounts and added one further layer of pepper embossing powder all over.  On the Tag I have used Bright White with a sprinkle of Ebony added and heat set.  Whilst the embossing powder is hot and liquid,  I have inked up CREATE word from the 'ME collage' stamps and embedded the word in the tag.  I have then added a piece of gross grain ribbon.

Finally stuck this all together on the canvas with Pinflair silicone glue.

Thank you for stopping by!
