My Favorite...Ultra Shimmer!!!

Hi, Patti here with this month's theme "Favorite". I'm going to share my favorite technique using WOW. I absolutely LOVE how the Ultra Shimmer powder can be used to showcase and entire project base using an embossing folder. I chose one of my all time favs called "Passion" by Couture Creations. This technique also uses colored pencils or markers. You need to choose very light colors for the best look.

You also need a folder that has large enough details to color in the sections. Very small and very detailed folders won't work for this tecnhique. You can see the sections clearly in this folder.

I chose to use a pastel pink colored pencil with a few green leaves filled in. This is how it will look at this stage.

Next, I took a green ink pad and inked over the entire design.

This is how it will look. I then took the Ultra Shimmer powder for the next step.

Cover the entire surface with embossing ink and sprinkle it with the powder. Shake off excess and emboss.

It will look like this. The shimmer doesn't show that well in photos, but it really sparkles and shines! It's such a pretty look!

I put this on a 5x7 pink card base, added a sentiment and ribbon and that was it!!! A really pretty card that isn't hard to do!

I have a second project to share today, since this month we are featuring the De-Vine stamp and the Calypso powder! I chose to use the Calypso powder and stamp for a background on my card.

I chose a lighter blue cardstock to emboss and then added a sentiment sticker, a few blooms and ribbon and it made a quick, but gorgeous card!!!! All sorts of color combinations can be used like this!!!! It's a really pretty look!

I hope you liked the projects that I have today! I urge you to try either or both!!! Thank you so much for stopping by today! And please check back to see what else we have in store for you!!!

Life's A Beach

Good morning crafty friends, I hope you're all well and getting very creative this month!
As this month's challenge is summer and I live on an island it seemed only natural that my inspiration card would feature sea and sand.
To create my beach scene I started off with a piece of pale blue card and a rubbed a Clear Ultra Slow Drying Embossing Pad across the top several times. I then sprinkled WOW Peppermint Tea Powder and Under The Sea Glitter over the top, tapped off the excess and melted with a heat tool. I created the sand underneath using Gold Pearl Powder.

For the sea I ran a line of PVA glue in the middle of the sky and sand with my finger, sprinkled with Under The Sea Glitter and melted with a heat tool. For the waves I added small areas of PVA straight from the nib of the bottle when added Opaque White Powder.

The birds and sentiment I have used Opaque British Summer Powder which is one of my favourite new powders, great colour and great name!
Finally, I added beach in…

Handy Stamp Storage Idea

Hello everyone... Happy Tuesday! :D

It's Sarah here with today's blog post created for our Monochromatic theme.

I don't know about you, but I always find I need to use stamps from a mixture of stamp sets and I thought it would be easier if I didn't have to slide each stamp set in and out of the packets all of the time.

I have a bunch of empty CD cases that I had almost thrown out but thankfully I hadn't as they turned out to be the perfect solution! The part that holds the CD easily popped out so I could then position my different stamp sets within them.

I found an old wooden CD box but it had no lid and as all clear acrylic stamps are best stored out of the light, I decided I would make a box lid for it... not just a plain lid though... a Wow Embossed box lid!

Here are brief instructions on how to make it:

STEP ONE

Using pearl silver card, I created a square to the size that I needed (145mm) and added 30mm wide rectangles around the square adding in some t…

IT WASN'T EASY…...
