My epic timeless 2014

Hello my dear crafty friends! Irit is here and this is our All about time month. A lot of things come  to our mind  while  we think about time. It can be  just " I am so late" or " times passed so fast" things; but then it can be anything about a moment in time, good or bad, or just things that happened during some time period.
So after a lot of self " brain storming" I decided to make this altered journal for my memories of year 2014. The year is still " in process", so I just made a cover and then I am going to add some journal pages, Mixed Media or regular scrappy style, not sure about it. But I was pretty much sure about my love to WOW! PRODUCTS and used them a lot over this fancy shabby/Vintage cover.

The basic paper products are from Marion Smith line, but then I used tons of embossing powders to change my embellishments to textures and colours that I like.

The whole cover was embossed with Olive Green powder.
The resin white Prima bird was embossed with Primary Chartreuse colour.
The metal bird and clock charm was embossed with Metallic Brass and so was the stick pin on the top of the cover and the centre of molded upper flower. The flower outer sides were embossed with Primary Apple Red.

The big bottom flower was made with WOW! Tea Rose  mold and as I didn't like the colour I got after adding some powders to the basic one, I embossed it over with the same Primary Apple Red. This flower metal base was also embossed with  Metallic Gold Rich powder and  bit of Olive Green around.(hard to see, but it's there).

As you can see WOW! POWDERS are perfect for any surface: paper, plastic, metal and then (not on this project) fabric, foil, transparency and.... You name it- I emboss it. And the results are gorgeous!

See you next month with more WOW! inspiration.

  1. Definitely shabby & vintage! So much to take in, had to zoom image & go over all details. Really like the bright red 'splats' (apologies if wrong word), the flowers are lovely, both mould & pprs ones. Cool vintage image & clock pieces.
I was so sad for challenge just gone, had to done a whole canvas & then before I could take pics, dropped phone in a cup of tea?? Only got working today, nightmare!
Great theme this month though, looking forward to DT creations :)

  2. What a fab book cover, so many details it's necessary to look over and over to take in all the detail, I know you will never tire of picking it up! Love it!

Life's A Beach

Good morning crafty friends, I hope you're all well and getting very creative this month!
As this month's challenge is summer and I live on an island it seemed only natural that my inspiration card would feature sea and sand.
To create my beach scene I started off with a piece of pale blue card and a rubbed a Clear Ultra Slow Drying Embossing Pad across the top several times. I then sprinkled WOW Peppermint Tea Powder and Under The Sea Glitter over the top, tapped off the excess and melted with a heat tool. I created the sand underneath using Gold Pearl Powder.

For the sea I ran a line of PVA glue in the middle of the sky and sand with my finger, sprinkled with Under The Sea Glitter and melted with a heat tool. For the waves I added small areas of PVA straight from the nib of the bottle when added Opaque White Powder.

The birds and sentiment I have used Opaque British Summer Powder which is one of my favourite new powders, great colour and great name!
Finally, I added beach in…

Handy Stamp Storage Idea

Hello everyone... Happy Tuesday! :D

It's Sarah here with today's blog post created for our Monochromatic theme.

I don't know about you, but I always find I need to use stamps from a mixture of stamp sets and I thought it would be easier if I didn't have to slide each stamp set in and out of the packets all of the time.

I have a bunch of empty CD cases that I had almost thrown out but thankfully I hadn't as they turned out to be the perfect solution! The part that holds the CD easily popped out so I could then position my different stamp sets within them.

I found an old wooden CD box but it had no lid and as all clear acrylic stamps are best stored out of the light, I decided I would make a box lid for it... not just a plain lid though... a Wow Embossed box lid!

Here are brief instructions on how to make it:

STEP ONE

Using pearl silver card, I created a square to the size that I needed (145mm) and added 30mm wide rectangles around the square adding in some t…
