Raise Your Glass!

Hi Everyone

This month is the challenge of   GLASS  at WOW HQ.

I love picking finds up at charity shops and this was no exception. I think it was used in chemistry at one time but it caught my eye for 50 pence!

I firstly painted it with 'Glue and Seal' from Ranger.  This I find give anything you put on top of it some base to cling onto instead of just the glass..

I then stamped out the meadow scene from 'ME Collage' all around the bottom in Versamark and heat set with Silver WOW embossing powder.  Tip - Don't put your stamps onto blocks, leave it free in your hand when stamping so you can get around the shape.  I then took the bird from the 'Vintage' stamps and the leaves and hearts from the 'Gratitude' stamps.

I then took some water and added re-inker in peeled paint and poured this into the chemistry vile.

When you use stamps on glass, just make sure that you do not put your heat gun too close as the glass will crack and splinter.  Also as soon as you see the powder melting move the heat gun to another part of the image - and let it cool off as the glass will get hot.

You can adapt this project to all sorts of items in your home. It would look lovely changing plain glass holders for tea lights Have fun.

Take care.....Sue
