Just for you...

'Just for you' by Neil Burley

A dozen red roses, hearts-a-plenty and all just for you. Perfect for your Valentine? The roses are made from red paper, then embossed with WOW! Ruby Romance, matched by the background mounting card made in the same way. Add an embossed sentiment, and stamped hearts and leaves, and you get a perfectly romantic card.

Here's how to make it:

You will need:
- WOW! Ruby Romance embossing glitter
- WOW! Metallic Gold Rich embossing powder
- WOW! Gratitude clear stamp set
- WOW! Everyday Sentiments clear stamp set
- White card for mounting
- Clear embossing ink pad
- Red paper, florists wire
- Hot glue gun, or strong quick drying glue
- Glue to stick down leaves
- Heat gun
- Distress Inks - I used Festive Berries, Peeled Paint and Mowed Grass

Start by making the roses. Cut strips of the red paper 1/4" wide and around 4" long. Stick a piece of florists wire approx. 2" long to the start. Allow to dry. Fold the paper down until parallel to the wire, and then curl it up around the top until it is again perpendicular to the wire. Repeat until the end of the paper strip and then stick down with glue and allow to dry. Roll the rose on your embossing ink pad, cover with WOW! Ruby Romance, tap off the excess and then heat set - if you have used a hot glue gun, take care not to overheat the rose when embossing.

Take a piece of white card and cut to 4" square. Stamp the sentiment from the WOW! Everyday Sentiments set in clear embossing ink, cover with WOW! Metallic Gold Rich, tap off the excess and heat set. Allow to cool. Stamp the three hearts from the WOW! Gratitude set in red distress ink in the centre printing over the embossed sentiment.Twist the roses together into a circle (imagine you're making a daisy chain) and then make the heart shape using the 12-o'clock and 6-o'clock position roses as your centre points. Stick down on your printed square card using hot glue gun.

On another piece of white card, stamp the leafy frond from the WOW! Gratitude set three times using a dark green ink (e.g. Peeled Paint DI). Using a water brush, paint over the leaves to colour, and add a lighter green over the top to add interest and texture (e.g. Mowed Grass DI). Dry off with heat gun and then cut out all the leaves. Stick down with matt drying glue (e.g. matt Studio MultiMedium from Ranger). Mount on a piece of white card 5" square that has been edged with clear embossing ink and then embossed with WOW! Ruby Romance. Mount it all on a 6x6" card and you're done :)
