Triple Embossed Glitter Christmas Card

Make a two in one card for Christmas with Glitter Embossing

Hi, Christine Saunders here again with a new technique for you all to try - Iv'e been playing again with powders and glitter and have come up with this technique for glitter embossing.

This Christmas Card has Glittered Triple Embossed Christmas Trees which can double up as Christmas Decorations too.  All 3 trees have wire loops attached to them so you could hang them up on your tree or use them for decorations next year.

To make the card ink up the WoW Embossed swirly cardstock with green and brown ink leaving the centre white. Stick onto brown folded cardstock leaving a section on the left for a ribbon embellishment.

Cut out 3 triangles, ink up with clear embossing ink and add Red Sparkle Embossing Powder - heat to set . Repeat this 3 times more but this time use Clear Gloss Ultra High to add thick layers.

Using the "Is it a Bird" stamp set, ink up a tree with gold paint, dip this into gold glitter. Heat up your embossed tree and stamp into the hot powder with your prepared, glittered stamp.  The glitter will stick to the image creating a lovely gold sparkly effect.

Be sure to wash your stamp off thoroughly - I use a hard stencil brush to get all the glitter and paint off.  Repeat this twice more with other stamps from the set on the other two trees. Add a wire loop to the back of each tree. (Each tree could then used as a Christmas Decoration if you want).

Stick these to your card with 3D Foam squares.

For the sentiment - use the Merry Christmas from the "Merry and Bright Christmas" Set of stamps and emboss with Evergreen powder on white cardstock.  Cut a piece of card larger than your wording and emboss the middle with Red Sparkle and the outside with Evergreen. Add this to your card to finish.
I'm off now to make more Christmassy things using the paint and glitter technique.  Have a go yourselves. It's easy and looks fab.

Products used:   " Is it a Bird" stamp set.
"Merry and Bright Christimas" stamp set
                           Red Glitz Embossing Powder
                           Evergreen Embossing Powder
                           Clear Gloss Embossing Powder

  1. I love multifunctional multicoloured glittery cards! This one is just perfect :)

  2. I love thickly embossed embellishments. Very nice!

Life's A Beach

Good morning crafty friends, I hope you're all well and getting very creative this month!
As this month's challenge is summer and I live on an island it seemed only natural that my inspiration card would feature sea and sand.
To create my beach scene I started off with a piece of pale blue card and a rubbed a Clear Ultra Slow Drying Embossing Pad across the top several times. I then sprinkled WOW Peppermint Tea Powder and Under The Sea Glitter over the top, tapped off the excess and melted with a heat tool. I created the sand underneath using Gold Pearl Powder.

For the sea I ran a line of PVA glue in the middle of the sky and sand with my finger, sprinkled with Under The Sea Glitter and melted with a heat tool. For the waves I added small areas of PVA straight from the nib of the bottle when added Opaque White Powder.

The birds and sentiment I have used Opaque British Summer Powder which is one of my favourite new powders, great colour and great name!
Finally, I added beach in…

Handy Stamp Storage Idea

Hello everyone... Happy Tuesday! :D

It's Sarah here with today's blog post created for our Monochromatic theme.

I don't know about you, but I always find I need to use stamps from a mixture of stamp sets and I thought it would be easier if I didn't have to slide each stamp set in and out of the packets all of the time.

I have a bunch of empty CD cases that I had almost thrown out but thankfully I hadn't as they turned out to be the perfect solution! The part that holds the CD easily popped out so I could then position my different stamp sets within them.

I found an old wooden CD box but it had no lid and as all clear acrylic stamps are best stored out of the light, I decided I would make a box lid for it... not just a plain lid though... a Wow Embossed box lid!

Here are brief instructions on how to make it:

Using pearl silver card, I created a square to the size that I needed (145mm) and added 30mm wide rectangles around the square adding in some t…
