A little bit of Vintage...

I'm going to get a reputation as a rebel on this blog, you see, this month is all about Vintage and Nature and using the foils... Well.......I didn't have the foils when I started this card, didn't fancy Nature, but really wanted to do Vintage...So 1 out of 3 isn't bad.
Start off with a folded piece of card stock to the finished size of your card, then make a layer slightly small than your card.
I've stamped flourishes in Bright White Powder, but, before I embossed, I "distressed" the powder by removing bits with a paintbrush, this gives a more Vintage feel to the card.

As with 99% of my cards, I have to add ribbon, I just love it, I can't help it, it's one of my weaknesses. Whilst teaching for WOW at the Hobby Craft Show in Birmingham, a question I got asked a lot is "can you emboss onto ribbon"? and the answer is YES !!! Just do tests on the ribbon you want to use and keep the heat gun moving, so as not to burn it. I've used Seam Binding for this one, but it also works on good quality Grosgrain.
Just lay your ribbon nice and flat, ink up your stamp, I've used the Brocade Background one, and press firmly against the ribbon, add your powder, I used Pepper, shake off the excess and heat.
Repeat the pattern along to the length you require.
Add a few pearls and a sentiment taken from the Everyday Sentiments Stamp Set, ohhh and a little bit of twine, lets not forget the twine !! and there you have it
Hugs
