Bring a little sparkle to your embellishments

Hi everyone... just thought I would share another fun layout using the WOW Embossing Powders to bring a little sparkle to your embellishments.

For this layout, I used the Ultra Shimmer Embossing Glitter to add a little bit more to the My Mind's Eye kite sticker. I just love the stickers that have glitter and since this one didn't I just embossed the kite with the Ultra Shimmer Embossing Powder. I love how it turned out.

I also used the "gratitude" stamp set and added the swirls just above the journaling. After I stamped it with Jenni Bowlin's Lemon Drops, I added some more Ultra Shimmer and embossed it.

Supplies: WOW Ultra Shimmer Embossing Glitter and the WOW Gratitude Stamp Set

Journaling: We had such a great day today. You were so excited to go to church this morning. You talked about it all week. Then we went on a picnic in Santa Monica by the pier. It was a beautiful day. You ran around with your brothers, so carefree. After lunch we flew kites and you loved it. You and Wills tried to see how high they would go. I loved seeing you just soaking up the sun. I want your childhood to be filled with memories just like this one. I love you, Riley.

Have a great week!
Diana

Handy Stamp Storage Idea

Hello everyone... Happy Tuesday! :D

It's Sarah here with today's blog post created for our Monochromatic theme.

I don't know about you, but I always find I need to use stamps from a mixture of stamp sets and I thought it would be easier if I didn't have to slide each stamp set in and out of the packets all of the time.

I have a bunch of empty CD cases that I had almost thrown out but thankfully I hadn't as they turned out to be the perfect solution! The part that holds the CD easily popped out so I could then position my different stamp sets within them.

I found an old wooden CD box but it had no lid and as all clear acrylic stamps are best stored out of the light, I decided I would make a box lid for it... not just a plain lid though... a Wow Embossed box lid!

Here are brief instructions on how to make it:

STEP ONE

Using pearl silver card, I created a square to the size that I needed (145mm) and added 30mm wide rectangles around the square adding in some t…

Life's A Beach

Good morning crafty friends, I hope you're all well and getting very creative this month!
As this month's challenge is summer and I live on an island it seemed only natural that my inspiration card would feature sea and sand.
To create my beach scene I started off with a piece of pale blue card and a rubbed a Clear Ultra Slow Drying Embossing Pad across the top several times. I then sprinkled WOW Peppermint Tea Powder and Under The Sea Glitter over the top, tapped off the excess and melted with a heat tool. I created the sand underneath using Gold Pearl Powder.

For the sea I ran a line of PVA glue in the middle of the sky and sand with my finger, sprinkled with Under The Sea Glitter and melted with a heat tool. For the waves I added small areas of PVA straight from the nib of the bottle when added Opaque White Powder.

The birds and sentiment I have used Opaque British Summer Powder which is one of my favourite new powders, great colour and great name!
Finally, I added beach in…

Happy memories - embossed background

I must admit I was having a bit of a problem coming up with a memory keeping project for this months post. I have been making almost only cards lately and had a bit of a problem filling a whole layout. I do make some layouts and lately I've been partial to letter sized layouts because the format remind me of cards and makes it easier for me to plan the page. This time I made a A4 sized layout because it's easier for me to find the page protectors in regular stores here. I used some good cardstock that doesn't warp much when you heat it or add water since i knew I would emboss it.
Here's what I did. I picked the pretty Chrysanthemum background stamp and embossed it in Silver Pearl embossing powder three times in a row across the background. I must admit I was more than a little inspired by Isha Guptas cards for her guest post earlier this week. I used distress inks in Twisted Citron and Mermaid Lagoon and applied with an ink blending tool randomly over the embossed are…
