Aditi here and I'm back with a mixed media off the page project for you all. Today, I'm creating an art journal page. For my page, I decided to create all the elements from scratch. This sure is going to be fun, and will give you an idea of how to stretch your existing supplies.
Aditi here and I'm back with a mixed media off the page project for you all. Today, I'm creating an art journal page. For my page, I decided to create all the elements from scratch. This sure is going to be fun, and will give you an idea of how to stretch your existing supplies.
Here's a look at the page:
For this page, I'm playing with a variety of embossing powders. Along with that, I'm using dye inks as a colouring medium. I begin by creating textured paper tags for the layers. I rubbed embossing ink onto the base of an embossing folder and ran a piece of white card stock through it. I then sprinkled embossing powder and heat set it.
For the focal elements, I used a layered stamp set. I applied light coloured ink for the base layer, embossing ink on top and heat set it with clear embossing powder. I used different embossing powders, going darker and vibrant with each layer of the stamp.
On the background, I used the inks as watercolours and created a cloudy tinted effect.
I completed the page with a journaling sticker to add meaning and clear sequins for a little more bling.
