Sparkly Embossed Snowflakes | Embossing Elegance with Erin

Hello Friends, and Happy New Year! I am thrilled to join the WOW! Team, and today I couldn’t think of a better way to jump in than with sparkly snowflakes.

I began by adding texture paste to the new Confetti Hexagon stencil. Then (while it was still wet) added Strawberry Sparkle embossing powder, and set it aside to dry.

Next I created glittery cardstock panels by embossing black cardstock with WOW! Embossing Ink and Grape Fizz and Minty Twinkle. After heating, I die cut the two base layers of the snowflake. The final snowflake die cut was very delicate. So I cut that from black cardstock first, and then embossed with Strawberry Sparkle. (Hint: Place the die cut back into the negative space to hold while inking.)

When the stenciled texture paste dried, I heated to melt the embossing powder. Then, I created a background panel by inking the edges of white cardstock, and heat embossed with Grape Fizz. I used the gorgeous new Polished Silver powder to emboss the sentiment, and layered it over a Grape Fizz embossed banner. Finally, I layered everything and adhered together.

What do you think? Don’t you agree that sparkly embossed snowflakes are a lovely way to start the new year? I’m not sure that I can pick a new favorite embossing powder, but it might be Grape Fizz or even Polished Silver. Thanks so much for spending some time with us today! Crafty Hugs!

  1. This is really beautiful Erin and I love the mix of embossing powders and the snowflake stands out so well against the dark background, and the added Grape Fizz embossing around the edge of the base layer really lifts it too. x
