Wishing you all a happy November and Fall! This time of the year, nature inspires me in multiple ways. The colours and elements of fall sure help when creating art.
Today I'm sharing an altered acorn with you'll. The new release Silk Road Trio is perfect for this. The base is MDF and I've used various layers of textures, colours and embossing powders to create this decor piece.

I began by adding layers of torn paper napkin and cheese cloth using white gesso. I then added colour with pigment powders. Once dry I began adding my embossing powder which penetrated between the base layers, and gave it in a nice frosted look.
On a transparent sheet, I added gloss gel using a stencil and sprinkles Sparkles, that was enough for that gorgeous texture. I've coloured the die cut elements using the embossing powders. I added touches of embossing glitter onto the flowers as well.
