Heffy Doddle and WOW! Embossing Collab Blog Hop!!

Welcome to the Heffy Doodle and WOW! Embossing Powders Collaboration Hop!

TRICK OR…..

Hello Lovely Crafty Friends, it’s
Sasha from Love Builds Up Crafts here. So today WOW! Embossing Powder and Heffy doddle are collaborating with a blog Hop to showcase 3 BRAND NEW embossing powders, just in time for some Halloween crafting! These powders are inspired by Mama Makes, please make sure you Hop along to see all the amazing inspo from the joint Design teams, also you could win yourself a little TREAT!

I’ve got some fun Tricks and Treats to share with you today, unfortunately this time there’s no process reel but there will be a Reel just to show the projects in more detail here! Also don’t forget to use discount code WOWDTSO for 10% off from the WOW! Embossing shops. It’s our Treat!

Start by taking a 5 x7 inch panel of WOW! Superior cardstock and using some gel medium, adhere black tissue paper (not toilet roll but the stuff they use to gift wrap)to the panel. The objective of this is to create a forest of trees, so really use your glue to shape the tissue into tree looking structures

**You can substitute the gel medium with watered down PVA glue/ Modge Podge. You can also use kitchen towel as a substitute for the tissue paper but you will have to paint it with black acrylic paint after.
** Tissue paper is inexpensive and a great way to add texture or dimension to a background. You can easily find it on Amazon or in your local gift shop sometimes even for free, check your packages

Once your tree background is dry, go ahead and ink it up with your WOW! Slow drying Embossing ink pad. Cover it with the Nebula Stardust powder and heat emboss. You want to make sure that the whole panel is fully covered with this gorgeous sparkly wonder of a powder before heat embossing

Next use a black Alcohol marker to colour over the raised areas of the panel so that you can define the shapes of the trees. Don’t over think this just run your alcohol marker over any raised area just like you would if you had used an embossing folder. So this is trick number one! You can create a custom one of a kind embossing folder looking background using some tissue paper, glue and your imagination! It’s so fun, try it!

Using a hole puncher make different sized holes in the areas that are NOT raised so that it looks like spooky eyes peering in the dark. Trick number 2 is to use different coloured shiny sequins as the eyes because they glow and also give different colours in the light which really gives the feel of glowing eyes in the forest.
**you can use your black alcohol marker to draw different shaped eye balls on your sequin eyes to give different expressions.

Stamp and colour your Heffy doddle images using your chosen media. I like to mix alcohol markers and colouring pencils but you can use whatever you are comfortable with. To finish off the card, trim the panel down a centimetre on all sides then prop it on some foam tape and stick it onto a white 5x7 inch card base. Add your sentiments and die cut images annnd voila!

The forest is Alive!!

TREAT!

So this next project has very few steps so don’t be scared! Haha! Anyway start by die cutting a tag out of black cardstock. Using a mask and some black & white pigment ink, create a moon in the middle of your tag. Emboss your moon with clear embossing powder for some glossy awesomeness and then add a light layer off white pigment ink to give your moon a glow.

For this part you can draw with a pencil first if you are not sure. Using the WOW! Embossing ink pen, draw a wavy flight path. I’m Not quite sure how to describe this so please refer to the pictures. Go ahead and emboss this with the Cosmic Night embossing powder
** you can use a white colouring pencil to create a glow around your flight path.
Finish off the tag by heat embossing a sentiment in white embossing powder, then propping up your stamped image die cuts on some foam tape so that your witching cat really looks like she’s flying. Don’t forget to use a white gel pen to add a few stars around the cosmic path to really emphasise the magic of it all! Use some black tulle to tie the tag to the treat bag annnd Voila! The treat bag is ready to WOW!
