FUN and CHEAP! Fall texture with NEW! Embossing Powders
So for todays cards, there is a full video tutorial over on the WOW! Embossing powder YouTube so. I’ll just discuss the brief details in this post and for more details please Click this Video here
Recently I have been enjoying creating texture and interest using our embossing powders.. What do you get when you use kitchen roll, glue and WOW! Embossing powder?! You get such amazing textured backgrounds that look like you have the worlds coolest embossing folder collection. The more layers of kitchen towel you add, the more depth you get to your background!
I know most of us have used this technique at some point in art class, it’s a really old technique but when you add the newly released Silk Road Trio and Ancient Trio Embossing powders, it creates something new! You use crumpled up kitchen towel paper and watered down glue to create a textured background. This also works with well with regular paper or gift wrapping tissue paper but kitchen towel paper is more malleable therefore easier to mould into different shapes.
Once your kitchen towel panel is dry, you can add colour by ink blending and then adding embossing powder on the raised areas. This not only creates interest but it also adds wonderful texture. For these cards I had to die cute so I lost some of the texture but if you don’t have to die cut then you can retain all the beautiful raised areas which really do give an impression of a 3d embossing folder
I choose simple designs for these cards so that our textured creations would remain the main focus. For this first card, the final card measure 5 x 7 inches and for the second card it is A2 size. Please don’t forget to watch the full video tutorial and to also check out the high resolution pics over on Instagram.
I hope this inspires you to explore your embossing powders!
