Hello Lovely Crafty Friends, it’s Sasha from Love Builds Up Crafts here with another Cardmakers Delight! One of the most wonderful things about Autumn, obviously besides comfort food, is of course the beautiful fallen leaves that cover our gardens, drive ways, rooftops and if you are lucky your overgrown grass! Today I’m sharing a card that brings some Autumn sparkle right into your craft room!!
As always please make sure you watch the process reel over on the WOW! Embossing Powder Instagram so that you get a better idea of everything. Also don’t forget to use the discount code WOWDTSO for a 10% off any WOW! Purchase.
Start by stamping the Foliage Background outline stamp by our very own Verity Buddlecombe on some WOW superior Cardstock, using the WOW! slow drying embossing ink pad. Go ahead and randomly add the California Gold, Golden Vintage Lace, BEE kind and In the Park embossing powders before heat embossing with the WOW! Dual heat tool. Even though the wow embossing ink is slow drying, you do have to work quite fast so make sure all your powder bottles are open before you start. Once embossed trim it down following the borders of the stamp (the panel should be approx. 4.5 x 5.5 inches)
Next die cut a circle frame and a Hi sentiment using the Picket Fence studios slimline systems dies. (TIP die cut in about three of each and then stick them over each other. This adds some wonderful dimension and also makes your die cuts sturdier!) Be sure to keep the circle frame left over as we will need it later. Also die cut some flowers using the Spellbinders butterfly card creator die set. You can use any flower dies that you have or even some leaves would be nice.
Using the left over circle from the frame diecutting as a mask, ink up the middle of your foliage embossed panel and randomly add the same four colours of embossing powder as above. TIP: I used the WOW! Mixed media tool to ink up the circle because this allowed me to ink up and emboss one section of the circle at a time.
Grab some embellishment gems, the ones I’m using are clear bubbles from Lucy’s shop but any non plastic ones will work. Add a few to one side of some double sided adhesive and use the Wow! mixed media tool to ink them up and then add your embossing powders. This will give you some colour matched super sparkly gems which you can now stick to your flower centres. Create a wreath using the flowers and the circle frame, the arrangement is absolutely up to you!
Finish the card off by adding a 4.5 x 6 inch matting layer which you will emboss with In the park embossing powder before propping it on some foam tape and then sticking it to a similar sized card base. Go ahead and add your frame and sentiment and don’t forget to gasp in awe of all that beautiful sparkle!
