EASY Embossing powder LAYERING with translucent powders!!

Hello lovely crafty friends, it’s Sasha here with another CARD MAKERS DELIGHT.
Wow! Embossing powder Uk has so many gorgeously coloured glitter embossing powders but did you know that some of them have the magical power of TRANSLUCENCY!! If you see any powder marked with a (T) then it will work, for hours of layered heat embossing fun.

So for todays card I just wanted to showcase how you can make a complete card just using embossing powders from start to finish! You can catch the  Video here and the  Reel here if you want a quick look.

I am starting off with a 3.5” x 7” panel of WOW embossing superior cardstock! This cardstock really is superior especially for embossing! It’s brilliantly white and gives a really crisp embossed final image. I’m going to ink up my panel using a stencil and my WOW! Embossing ink pad. Now that my panel is nice and juicy, I’m going to add a layer of Sara Naumann Golden Green embossing powder but only to the middle of the panel. I’ll then go in with the Sara Naumann lucky clover to cover up the rest of the panel.

Once I have heat embossed this, I am going to go ahead and add my second layer of embossing using the Catherine Pooler HAPPY TOGETHER stamp set to add branches with the Catherine Pooler Uptown embossing powder, and then the birds with the Honey Bee, Bee Kind embossing powder. At this point you should be seeing the see through effect that you get because of the translucency of these powders. So cool right?!
Tip: stamp your image multiple times to build a nice juicy layer of embossing ink so that when you emboss, you get a really crisp image. A stamping platform is very necessary for this.

For the final layer in our dazzling sparkle-piece is the sentiment. I inked up and stamped (repeating this action about 3 times) a sentiment from the same Catherine Pooler stamp set. I will emboss this in Catherine Pooler Tickle embossing powder. I sooo loove this pop of colour I think it brings the whole thing to life.
I finished off the card by propping the panel on some foam tape and sticking it to a card base. Then embellishing with some flower embellishments and gems from Lucy’s shop.

I hope you are inspired to try some embossing powder layering and please check out the video if you haven’t already.

 Crafty hugs,
Sasha x
