Hello, it's Verity with another video and blog post as a Creative team member for WOW! I'm back with another fun colour combo reel this month using the colours peak and teal. These two colours are almost complementary colours - pink is similar to red and the teal is similar to green and both red and green colours are complementary. So when you pick complementary colours you know they will pair well. I'm not usually one to paper piece, but I found this very therapeutic - I needed some time just to switch off, which really helped. But if you're not a paper piece-er, I have a straightforward card to boot! So let's get started.
Teal and Pink colour combo written Tutorial:
Start off by heat embossing 3 white card panels with the following embossing powders: Rose Quartz (from the GemStone Trio), Raspberry Cream, and Cerulean. I like to use a brayer to apply my embossing ink as this gives a good even coverage of ink.
Next, die-cut each panel using the Circle Around die and keep all the die-cuts from this. In addition, die-cut one white card panel with this die as well. To make it easier to paper-piece, add a sheet of double-sided adhesive to your card base and adhere the white die-cut over the top.
Using the other embossed die-cut panels, start to piece in the negative pieces into the white die-cut panel where the adhesive is open. Start off with Rose quartz, mixing this down into Raspberry Cream and the Cerulean. Allow the colours/die-cut pieces to mix and blend.
To finish the card off, add a sentiment from the Love & Hugs Fab Foilers set which is foiled in Blush Fab Foil and embellish with a few sequins.
For this other card, we will use the leftover die-cut pieces from the embossed panels. With the Rose Quartz and Raspberry Cream panels, die-cut 1.5 inches from the ends. Repeat this with the Cerulean embossed panel as well.
Adhere one end of the die-cut Raspberry Cream panel to a white card base. Next, add the middle piece from the Cerulean embossed panel and then top with the end piece from the Rose Quartz embossed panel.
Again, this card is finished with a sentiment from the Love & Hugs Fab Foilers set which was foiled in Blush Fab Foil. Lastly, embellish with some sequins to finish the card.
