Hello, it's Verity with another video and blog post as a Creative team member for WOW! For today's colour combo I'm keeping it simple and using a ready-made colour combo with the Independent Trio. I wanted to make a card with the Trio as it is raising money for Ukraine with the profits going to the DEC Ukrain Humanitarian Appeal. And these colours are gorgeous, so true to colour and produce such a bright look!
Colour Combos with Verity: Independent Trio! written tutorial:
Start off by creating three heat embossed panels with the Independent Trio. I like to use my brayer to apply WOW! Clear Ultra Slow Drying embossing ink to a white card panel evenly. Then cover each panel with Blue Skies, Wheatfields and United powders from the Independent Trio.
Once heat-set, and I would heat set the United from behind as it is an embossing glitter, use the butterfly dies from the Butterfly Bursts dies from Spellbinders to cut out lots of butterflies in the Blue Skies and Wheatfield panels.
Score a white card panel horizontally even 1.2" for some tone on tone texture in the background and add to a white card base. For the sentiment, die cut the full Hello die from A Pocketful of Happiness out of the United embossed panel.
Add the butterflies and die-cut sentiment to the card panel foam mounting and fold the wings for definition. For the small sentiment, hot foil with the Glimmer machine a sentiment from Yana's Tiny Sentiments Hot Foil plats.
