Ombre Embossed Sentiment Dies

Hello friends, it's Colleen here today sharing a fun way to use your WOW! embossing powder with large sentiment dies! Large sentiment dies are all the rage right now, and it's fun and easy to use them as the focal point of your card! We're going to step it up a notch by creating an ombre look to our sentiment!

I'm using a large die sentiment from Crafty Meraki called Celebrate Slimline tag. For this card, I'm using just the Celebrate die along with the "Let's" and "You" dies that come with the set.  My first step was to create a subtle, yet shiny, background. Since my sentiment was going to be in pinks, I decided on a grey background. Those two colors work so well together! I did some easy ink blending on a  6x3 white card panel with Pinkfresh Studio inks in Misty Coast, Rocky Slope, and Metropolis. Then I heat embossed over the inked up area with Earl Grey embossing powder. Earl Grey is such a lovely shade of grey with bits of glitter in it!

I placed the panel onto a white card base sized 6.25 x 3.25. Then I started on the Celebrate sentiment die. This is a HUGE die that's perfect as a focal point! I die cut it onto white cardstock and then created an ombre effect using embossing powders in Made You Blush, Bubblicous, and Pinkalicious. All of these powders are Opaque, so I knew the colors would be bright and vibrant! I added one powder at a time, going from lightest to darkest. Then I dried the sentiment with my WOW! Dual Speed heat gun on high. I then adhered it over the grey card panel and finished with the Let's and You sentiments in white, so the sentiment reads "Let's Celebrate You". I just love how pink and grey play so nicely together! Below is a closer look at the sentiment.

I'm glad you stopped by today and hope that you pull out your WOW! powders and create an ombre look to your sentiment dies!
