Hello!
Nanette here...
Duo-Tone Embossing; I have myself convinced that I made up that phrase, but probably not. 😉The technique has been done before by other wonderful and creative card artists. I've been meaning to try it for awhile. So here it is!
To see how the Catherine Pooler Wishes sentiment was duo-embossed, using WOW's Indulgence Trio, be sure to check out my Reels on Instagram for the process video!
On a Tim Holtz Distress Watercolor Cardstock Panel of about 3.75" x 5", swish some Catherine Pooler's Uptown and Dress Blues inks across the panel. Just press the ink onto an acrylic block, spritz a little water, and then you can use a paint brush to watercolor with these stamping inks. With a wet brush filled with the Dress Blues, splatter some ink across the card, too.
All three powders from the Indulgence Trio were used on this card. After the watercolor panel dried, Gold Vintage Lace was heat-embossed using WOW's Folk Art Snow Flake stamp.
Pea Coat and Cerulean were used on the sentiment die-cut. I very lightly adhered the die-cut to a stick and inked each half of the die-cut separately with the Mixed Media Embossing Brush and heat-embossed each color of embossing powder. It was then adhered to the card over a vellum piece cut from the same die set.
